Anyone know any other options?
It seems like bikes have become so porky in the past 5 years. I remember about 10 years ago it was pretty easy to get a frame that was around 700g-ish.
Been wanting to build a weight weenie for a while...even the "ultralight" Vanyar Pro is 900g!   :o

The spacers don interact with how the bottom cup sits on the top bearing. I think the gap is caused by some incorrect assembly or the tube race is doing something funky in there.

It's actually other way around where I live - MTBs are far more popular than road bikes, even among people who ride in the city

Similar situation here. There is a MTB trail system on my road and the parking lot is always packed weather permitted. I rarely see other people out cycling on roads, and I live in a 'gravel mecca' (Vermont).

Something that keeps me from getting into MTB is that I'm afraid of injuring myself, it seems prerequisite to have a major crash for MTBers (at least more so than road cyclists) and the trails here are quite technical.

Was looking at this too.
These sellers have really confusing listings, showing completely different frames in different shots, no geometry listed, no shots of completed bikes. You will see the same picture in different sellers offerings, seems like all of these sellers aren't actually the manufacturer.

The welding honestly isn't that great as you can see a lot of undercut on things like dropouts, cable bosses, bottle bosses, etc...but at these prices it's not really a complaint that applies.

Are you talking premade frames or custom designs? There is nearly no information out there on premades like those from Hi-Light.

There is a lot of information in the other forum on the latter and it doesnt really matter MTB or Road for custom designs. There are a ton of factories to work with for those. The two most popular are probably Waltly and XACD / XATW. The first is more consumer friendly with less options, the second is more B2B focused and has more options. Both have OEM customers, XACD / XATW seem to serve a higher price point and IMO their welds are aesthetically nicer and their machining near perfect, but they also cost more.

Premade would be easier I think...I'm kinda nervous about custom fit stuff just by sending some numbers overseas.
Looks like there's really two sellers/manufacturers on aliexpress- Titan and Bona Ti.

That doesnt look like a LCR017-D

Doh
You are right, I was confused, this is the Lightcarbon gravel frame.

Heres my headset area, no gaps.
The headset is a bit finicky to put together with the hydraulic lines, I'd disassemble and look to make sure the bearing race isn't jammed on the lines.

I'm kinda on the fence about riding a bare copy frame, but riding around on a fake one with the actual brand name is mega cringe.

Lightcarbon has a 36cm integrated aero bar with internal routing.

Is there a spot to discuss Ti road/gravel frames on this forum?
Trying to find info on some of these frames in the 1000 USD range and there's not much info available it seems.

I don't think this has the Trek butthole as on the SLR.

Highly suggest you to stop riding carbon-made frames and forks then.

I've owned 7 OEM frames and none of them looked like that!!!

Anyone know what sort of max tire width is? Spec says 28mm, wondering if it is a bit larger as typical.
