The question is do they work as good as or better than the hybrid options like Juintech?

152
At that price, why not get something like ELVES Vanyar?

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056
« on: September 19, 2022, 04:33:50 AM »
I suspect that as well. I used to run a 1056 with 30mm tyres, and there was plenty of clearance left for bigger tyres. However, fitting bigger tyres doesn't make the 1056 a gravel bike. The stack and reach are similar to a gravel frame, but the wheelbase is much shorter and the angles steeper, so it handles like a road bike.

This would somehow crash the idea of an endurance road bike.. 38mm is allready Gravel style . If that's true I erase the long term idea of a 1056 in my basement :-\ I hope at least that they would offer both frames then, if that's true.   The road and the Allroad ...

By the way:
Also Canyon did that with their endurance bike.. the endurace is now not a road bike anymore.. sad story. Need to keep mine in good condition.

Well, it is not unusual for road bikes to accept 32mm tires. So endurance bikes running wider tires is no big deal

Make sure you use some carbon grease when installing the seat post. Also, if it has paint or clear coat over it, sanding it down to increase the grip of surface area may help.

I was wondering if something like pure silicone lube (without petrol) would work to make the regular cables work smoother?

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Twitter R10 Complete Bike

It is still in my radar but haven't order it yet. It actually has holes for rim brakes so you can convert the frame from disc to rim braking anytime you like. The alloy wheels they come with can handle both disc and rim braking. You can custom make a carbon wheel that can do both rim and disc braking, if weight is not an issue for you.

Yeah, I saw the holes and was hoping that it wouldn't be the case, but alas. This kind of solution seems to be way too janky even by my standards, so I guess I will be passing up

So did you decide to order it? Browsing ali atm and found the R10 frame, it does look pretty decent, at least from the pictures... Now only if I can find a rim brake version.

Sorry, since these rims are OEM for big brand, we can not list them onto our website. We offer them at this on sale price since our factory has thousands of them available in stock, we can ship the rims in 3-4 days after order placed. We are confident in our rims quality, so we offer 2 years warranty.

We can build the wheels with.carbon spokes or Sapim CX-Ray spokes

Attachment is for the weight reference

Thank you for the information, I think I'll contact you regarding some wheels  :)

Do you have a web link to these rims? Checked the link in your signature, but didn't find the matching wheels (R5026TL). Searched it in google and found the same wheels offered by Fact, is it the same company?

What are the specs of stock wheels, according to Fact website they have alloy nipples and weight approx. 1.6kg (R5026TL), is this info correct?

Well I been hearing from multiple sources that frame sizes are becoming over sized. And you can no longer believe the "size" and you actually have to look at the geometry and actually numbers

The "size" number has been subjective for long time - the same person could ride size 54 bike from one brand and size 56 from other brand. Going by geometry is the best way to choose a frame. Tho it seems to be true that because of current trend of road bikes (less stack, more reach), people end up using size larger frames than usual.

Eh, these are pretty much the same bikes sporting good stores sell for like 200 bucks. Some part of it will be carbon (or it will just look like carbon), but don't expect any quality.

Current build list looks like this

Living in Europe sure is expensive  :-\

Still missing some stuff like handlebars (will figure them out eventually after I get proper bike fit), cables, cable housing and pedals.

I rate it yikes out of 10.

I don'tt want to make a new thread, so please don't kill me for a double post.

I was browsing Aliexpress as usual and found these wheels:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002368594848.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.2.749b2e5bBy7hZy&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21EUR%21€%20848%2C36%21€%20695%2C66%21%21%21%21%21%402100bb4c16617180101313465ecc09%2112000020357475494%21sh
Roughly 720€ (with VAT included, seller claims that you don't need to pay VAT upon checking out, so it works out to around 570€) for wheels with flat carbon spokes and DT350 hub, which is fair bit less than Elitewheels BWS. Does anyone have any experience with the Explorer brand? They offer few different weave patterns, including the same marble look as Elitewheel Drive, on top of that they have a wide range of hubs, which makes me think that they lace wheels in house rather than just rebrand them.

P.S. I am not affiliated with that company or anything like that.

Buy it from Longteng instead of velobuild.

If they can't even build a functional website, how can they build a proper bike frame?  ;)
Jokes aside, I've tried to check their website, but there are basically no pictures showing up and their geometry charts suck, sometimes not even providing reach and/or stack. Not seeing the price is bit of a downside too.

Also, I had no luck when trying to find a frame with decent tire clearance and direct mount rim brakes (cheaper to build than with disc brakes, that's all)
