I'm glad the bad experience on the bibs were not the ones I was eyeing. The thermal jersey looks really good, I'm tempted but what's with the comically small back pockets? Are they this small in real life?

Does anyone have recommendation for rim brake pad holders on Alix? Don't need pads just the metal holder that holds the pads and attaches to caliper

Yes! I had this problem last year and couldn't find pad holders at ALL on european websites.
I think this was my first cycling related purchase on ali

They come with pads which I did not expect, I've never tried them since I already had swissstop pads. I don't think there's much else to say about them, can't really go wrong with pad holders.

I do really like this approach of letting us truly choose the cage, numbe of speeds and mounting.
If only we weren't restricted by the braking lever on the road. STI was a disaster for consumers

I bought a pair of DAREVIE bibs and long sleeve thermal jersey.

The top is really good, wear it in around 8-10 degrees and it holds up well, fits well, no stitching issues.
The bibs are the lowest tier i spend $26 aud, the build of the bibs are good and they fit well but the chamois is really thin and not very wide, i would not recommend wearing them for a ride over an hour, even just on my commute the chamois inadequency is apparent.

Care to link the models? These ones?

Like chains are there fake cassettes too? Looking for a 10s road cassette and looking for recommendations.
Look no further than sunshine/goldix imo. I find them better than stock shimanos. (sunshine 10s 11-40 on mtb and goldix 11s 11-40 on gravel)

Zero friction cycling who is an independent tester has found YBN chains to be really good, almost equivalent to dura ace. From everything I can tell about the testing he does for both chains and lubricants, he seems very trustworthy. Main concern now is to get a real YBN or shimano chain for a decent deal. Not really interested in a KMC chain.

Surely they wouldn't bother making counterfeit YBN products? What a shame they don't come in 126L for 11speed  :'(

Can someone send me an aliexpress link to stores selling legit YBN 11 speed chains please.

I recently bought a shimano 11s chain as a backup from Ali and am only now realizing it’s a fake. I bought it from “preference cycling store” who had pretty good reviews for the chain but looks like the people reviewing it are not able to tell. The key giveaways were that the check mark at the front of the box on the bottom is printed (should be done by hand) and the quick link is in the same package as the chain (should be separate). I’ve read some good stuff about YBN chains, so I think I will give that a try instead

This is the one I bought. I ended up not using it because they sadly only make 116L in 11 speed and my bike needed 118 links

I think I used to have the same one but with a painted design from enlee. Looks the same in shape and it was absolutely horrible. Flexy in an untrustworthy way and the plastic was sticking out of the side against my thighs instead of the padding

i have a knockoff $25 selle italia slr tekno flo (originally $450). its comfortable and its literally identical to the expensive one. comfort is subjective tho.

Please share the reference. I'm now getting saddle sores on the saddle that served me well for years and I wanted to switch to a selle italia

29+ & 27+ / Budget aliexpress fork recommendations
« on: May 24, 2023, 08:49:18 AM »
I'm looking to replace my suntour air fork that has never worked since getting it serviced would cost more than I'm willing to spend.
Looking at ali it seems like there are a bunch of cheap options (<120€) from the likes of bolany, ztto etc. I have almost no experience with mountain bikes so I don't really know what to look for or how to judge, but I know my bike is a 27.5 with 100mm travel. Has anyone tried them? Thanks

What is the point of buying wheeltop edx while a GX AXS is cheaper and proven?
Or is the quality of wheeltop more on the same level as XX1 groupset?

novelty  :)

The ZTTO axles on alix have a 6mm hex if you want. But I think the metal is a little soft and easy to strip

Using the RideNow tubes on my race bike for over 1000km now combined with Conti GP5000. I installed them as I do with butyl tubes...
Rolling great no problems, rolling well. However you need to check the air pressure more frequently.
They seem to loose more air than butyl but still way less than Latex.

I also have them as reserve tubes on all my bikes including the gravel due to space and weight savings.

BR Chris

I find that they vary a lot. Have 3 installed currently, one literally doesn't leak, still hard after 4 months. One deflates after about 2 months, other flat after 3 weeks

Am I stupid or are these options the biggest scams in the world? What makes them $70 per roll?
I'm at my third hardware store visit but I can't find anything suitable  :-\
