Finally built the two this weekend !
No problem to report about the frame.
Brake mounts were aligned. Smooth inside. Headtube ends clean.
Same great build quality as usual from Carbonda.

The pink one is for my sister !
Unfortunately I did order a 31.6 seat tube.::) Waiting for the 30.9 to arrive.

With GX AXS, a ZTTO cassette as she wanted a rainbow, but didn't want to invest in an eagle cassette, we'll see how it goes.
In the picture it is a ZTTO chain, but I don't like the noise it makes, so I have an XX1 on order to replace it.
The wheels are the XC925 from lightbicycle.com with 240 EXP hubs, CX-Rays spokes.

The ZRACE Hardrock crankset looks well built.
The Onirii M4 brakes were a very nice surprise, they look awesome and were very easy to assemble, no bleed required.

The brake adapters coming with the frame F PM160->180 and R FM->PM are a bit chunky, but free  ;)
I had to file a mm or so from the rear one to let the M4 totally on it.

The fork is temporary, she's not a rock garden type of rider, and I try to convince her a rigid fork will be enough.
If it works, we'll order a pink one, if not, we'll buy another fork.

Like I said above, people that prefer lockouts on their bikes will want one on the FM936 as well - Carbonda has not figured out how to defy the laws of physics yet.

That said, it's a very efficient pedaler for those with a smooth pedal stroke.

Do you think the FM909 is better or worse in that regard ?

For recalcitrant brakes, I usually put the pistons back and remove the pads.
Calipers have generally markers to center the caliper on the rotor that must be true.
Try to align the caliper with the disc(it must be as flat as possible) the best you can.
Put the pads back and brake to see what happens.

Now gnerally two problems can occur.
Either one of the piston sticks more than the other.
Or the mounts are not faced.

The first is easy. Get some silicone gel used in plumbing to assemble pipes.
Get one piston as out as you feel comfortable without popping it out.
Clean it with alcohol and apply the gel on it.
Put it back in and out a few time to lubricate everything.
Mineral oil can be used as well for the brakes that use it.

The second is easy too... if you have the facing tool.
Face the mount. Recenter the caliper, put the pad.

And ride !

If I remember well, it is for a road bike.
Ask the seller what is the max rotor size you can fit in the front.
As the fork may snap under torsional load if the disc is oversized.

I tried contacting Speeder through their live chat, but instead of answering my questions, they just closed the chat.

Try harder  ;D

This is what Wing sent me initially for paint options:

UD matte , UD glossy : $105

Do you know what is this option?

That looks pretty rough ... hopefully proto.
Yes, like a 3D print. And chunky.

... I will simply add in a small metal insert to make a tiny gap & pour in some Park Tool RC-1, which should flow in & fill gaps & bind everything & stop the moving
though there may be some minor creaking...

When this happened to the kid's bike, we had a good success using the Pattex 1875425 repair paste. While waiting for the new frame.
You put this pasta with your fingers everywhere you can inside during 5' or less
Then place the axle to keep it aligned when it is curing in about 24h

I gave the frame later to another kid, who used it, and never heard back.

Yeah I ran into the same issue. I don't get why you would ever use a lockring with external toothing. I find them harder to install, and they've never fitted in any of the frames I tried them with.

The end cap of the older DT-240 12mm were not leaving enough space for the lock ring tool.
Worse you could kind of tighten it, but good luck to get it out.
The EXP doesn't have this issue anymore.
There are flatter versions of this external lock ring, but require more care to tighten.

...the rub is bad enough that the wheel barely turns.

If you put the other type of lock ring, that you can tighten with the same tool as for a cassette, you should be fine.

May I ask for a photo of the finished build? :)  and how is your impression of the bike? I am thinking of the 1306 although I would like a smaller steering angle around 67°, which I can't really find for hardtail frames with 100.

Sure. If everything goes according to plans, the first one will be built this weekend.

I emailed Velo and Chris said to epoxy/resin it and will follow up with an email next week...
What a service. Don't let them go with this.
Ask for a warranty replacement, nothing else.

It happened once to a kid's bike I've built from Peter.
He replaced it immediately, no question asked.

Shimano also patents changes with battery... Sram can patent "its" battery, "its" clamping and similar things, but I don't see why other brands can't use removable batteries... Shimano has its satellite buttons ( patented ones are supposed) did not Sram take out his Blips?

There are strange patents like a 24mm axle between two bearings belongs to Shimano.
So came BB30 & Co, GXP, DUB,... giving us all kind of compatibility troubles.

For the wireless, it isn't clear. Plenty of legend like mine on forums.
https://bikerumor.com/sram-electronic-drivetrain-patents-show-wireless-road-mountain-bike-designs/ has a good overview but nothing on batteries.

It is strange Shimano and others are coming with semi-wireless, while they could do the same as SRAM.
Easier to setup and maintain, cheap batteries, that you can swap between components in case your derailleur is flat.
I don't see an advantage, except a longer battery life maybe, of a wired battery in the frame.

I got the light in the mail yesterday.  11 days!...

Can we stop this thread? I'm spending too much because of it  ;D

These are 21oz Camelbak Podiums, I'll have to try some longer bottles
Clever ! I'll check if this could work on a size M
