« on: January 06, 2021, 04:33:07 PM »
Saw that video a couple of days ago, damn nice looking frame and paint job. I also read a comment on the video that they wont sell it to North American market, hopefully hes wrong or they change their mind when they see all the people coming from the video wanting to buy.

29er / FM1266 - 170mm VPP frame
« on: January 03, 2021, 02:27:39 PM »
Found this frame on Flybike Asia's site. 170mm with VPP suspension, seems to be very up to date geometry.

I have a feeling Carbonda will have this frame as well in the future, but don't quote me on that.

"Yep same with mine. End of December to be precise. I got an image of a complete build, it looks pretty sweet. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to repost it though."

We won't tell anyone if you post an image of the finished bike.

Yep, and if you upload using the sites attachments unregistered users cant see the photo.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Fovno Crank sets

I got myself the cheaper FOVNO Ghost crankset. Looks very good for the price, except for some small optical flaws.

But I'm wondering how the supplied threaded BB is supposed to work in a pressfit frame?

No it wont work, that is a BSA threaded bottom bracket.

and that's what I'm going for. But I'll definitely check the BB92 tolerances on my FM936 first before pressing it in. Want to know if I have to sand some microns off and use grese or if I have to use loctite
Hmm, wouldn't the o-ring grooves that Ztto's bottom brackets have create a mechanical bond/lock when using retaining compund, just wondering if it would be a problem when removing or is the retaining compound not strong enough?

And the Fovno crank in DUB version.
I contacted the seller, but they were out of stock until December.
DUB should be better with the aluminium axles at 29mm insead of 24.

Found that Zrace have hardrock DUB cranks avalible on ali.

Zrace blade is an alternative, it has steel axle instead of aluminium. I have one but haven't tried it yet (waiting for next season + new bike), but the machining and quality looks really nice probably on par with fovno/hardrock.

The Cruz' produced 140mm out back with 52.5mm of stroke. These are supposed to use 55mm of stroke, so they'll make more, right?
I read somewhere the v2 hightower is 147mm if you run a 55mm shock, guess well know when the frames arrive :P.

Ah yes, another contender with non-existent, maybe medium only bikes  :P
So true lol ::)

This is a 29er right? If so 27.5" measurements shouldn't apply.
If its 29er (probably is), then the travel is 140mm.

551 mm is, if I recall correctly, the A2C measurement for a 160mm 27.5 Rockshox fork.  That being said, a 160mm 29" fork would slacken it by half a degree, in a mullet setup, you slacken it up by 3/4 of a degree, at least.
27.5 Fox36 160mm is 549.1mm

I measured the drawing and headtube angle is ~67 degrees, stack ~626mm and reach is ~471mm (difficult to measure the pic is too pixelated).
And its 100 pieces min order, atm atleast.

Running a 160mm fork will slacken the head & seat tube by 0.4 degrees.

Is the specified seat insertion really enough for a dropper? Seems kinda short to me.
