It's funny you said that most of the parts are expensive in Germany. I ordered my XT group and Rockshox fork by actionsports.de, because it was much cheaper than in The Netherlands.

The wheelset N-SS IP-HR930C with Novatec D771/D772 is great. I can recommend it.

When I ordered my frame by XmiPlay, I ordered the headset (with extra shims), a spare 142x12 part, a chainsuck/stay protector and also some spacers for the fork/handlebar.

For the handlebar, stem and seatpost I looked at AliExpress and found a nice Ritchey replica handlebar kit for a very cheap price. I found there also a nice saddle (spider). Didn't expect much of this saddle, but it sits very well and it's nice looking.

About your design (colors) that's personal. If you like it, do it. Don't care what others think.
I choose UD matte black. Because I couldn't choose. And I was/am afraid for cracks in the painting, because a carbon frame have some flex. So, I choose UD matte black and some red accents ( like red seatclamp, red hubs, red spoke nipples, red cable stops).

Please take a look at my building list and you won't miss anything (I hope).

Be careful if you order the xmiplay headset, they come with missing silver washers, making it virtually useless  >:(
I agree. But that's why I asked Peter for a set of extra shims when ordering the headset. And he added one shim to the headset. But i needed some more and found two shims in my toolbox. I installed this today and now it's perfect.

So, my advise, ask for extra shims. Just in case.

For the shifters it's easy. You can put the inner cable of the shifters right into the tubes/hoses.
For the rear break line, I put a thin iron cable into the hose, then I taped the brake line to this iron cable and then pull gently the iron cable AND push gentle the brake line.

The plastic tubes are for guiding the cables.

If you want to switch the fd and rd, you have to switch the plastic tubes first. The easiest way is to switch at the headset. Pull back both plastic tubes and put it back switched.
Actually, you dont have to switch, you can remove the fd tube and pull back the rd tube a little in the headset and put it in the fd exit.

Some benefits of the IP-256 are:
- Weight!! This is really the lightest MTB carbon frame, T800 carbon.
- All internal cables
- Direct mount for the FD (Down pull)
- Down pull FD needed, which means no cable from the top seat tube to below.
- 142x12 rear

Benefits of the FR-202:
- Price
- All intern cabels except the last end of the FD cable, which comes from the top of the seat tube to the FD.
- T700 carbon. Slightly heavier ( http://forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/chinese-carbon-29er-640919-173.html )

For me the direct mount, weight and the all internal cable routings (incl. down pull) was the breakdown.
And together with the service of Peter (XmiPlay) I decided to spend some more bucks. And I don't regret it.

There's also another vendor which have this 256 frame, don't remember the name, but that's also a reliable vendor.

But $410 for a 256 frame is very cheap and I don't believe you can get this frame for that price ...

What trick? Guess I missed it.. got a link?
Vipassana solution: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,150.msg2326.html#msg2326

Ken4 solution: http://forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/chinese-carbon-29er-640919-post11461755.html#post11461755

I think I'm gonna combine Vipassana and Ken4 solutions together to a MTB2223 solution: Foam with a cord  ;)

How is the progress on yr bike?
I finished the bike. Need some extra headset shims (small spacers between the lock ring and the top cover). And I've to do the noise-cancelation trick to prevent cable noise in the down tube.

I glued the seat clamp and seatpost and now it's holding very well. The saddle is great for me. I didn't expect that.

I've now driven 230 km on the bike and it's really a pleasure to ride on.
Many people on the MTB club are interested. Especially in the carbon wheel set.

Didn't they mean "after the first few rides" ?

On my old bike, I didn't true the wheels in 2 yrs :) And I used the bike a lot.
