...Looks like it's designed for a 130 mm fork,...
The AC is 506 which is a SID 100mm, did you ask them about the 130mm design?

I use the OG Evkin mount with their MTB integrated bar.
The mount vibrated, and when putting a light below, it was... dancing.
Discussing with OG Evkin didn't drive to any hope of improvement.

Then I crashed once and broke its end at the first screw.
I did cut the end, drilled another hole, making it more rigid being shorter.
And now it works great  8)

I did buy an alloy one too, to replace it.
But never used in the end: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mtKYyEo
Not sure why, it looks more dangerous to me if you hit someone in a group crash.

Here's one more: https://ritcheylogic.com/bike/headsets/logic-e-1.5-integrated-is-upper-headset
On order... I have big hopes on this one to make Juintech brakes work properly on one of my builds

Could also be interesting as a 'progressive' gravel frame option.  Particularly paired with a Lauf fork.   If you have pretty gravelly but very steep trails like I do.

I've learned something!

What is a progressive gravel bike?

Performance-oriented gravel bikes with longer frame proportions that are typically paired with a shorter stem, compact drop bars, or even flat bars.

Typical attributes include: Longer reach and front-center than traditional All-Road/Gravel bikes.

29er / Carbonda FM-1306A a 69° Hardtail
« on: August 17, 2022, 11:21:50 AM »
Happy day... for me at least, as I was not particularly happy trying another seller recently..
Carbonda is selling again a hardtail that in addition has an interesting geometry.
The FM-1306A, anyone ordered it already ?

I don't believe this has been reported before.  Can others confirm?
That is annoying, I was just about to order one.
They probably have a reason to do that, I hope it is a good one.

I’m convinced it is a flaw in the design.
It feels like a case of: lightweight, cheap, durable.  Pick two
Or maybe the usual: happy ones do not complain.
I have them for years, multiple thousands km.
Broke the rails of one when learning nose pivot turns.
And another by hitting it with a sharp edge.
But it never failed like the two here.

Can you give more details as to why? I'm considering making the same swap.
I'm about to need a second bike and was going for another 936.
I look forward for his reply, or maybe I  should go with a 909.

@PrincessZeeeeta -- She's a beauty!  Thanks for the review info.  What stem and bars did you go with?  They look great and sounds like they are performing well.  I just ordered fm936s for my sons and would like to mirror your setup!  Thanks!!
Since we are at it, what is this great looking rear mudguard ?

Build two bikes, or find bags that do not need bolts  ;)

507
Update on my EC90 saddle. 3rd ride, hit a pot hole at 50 km/h and the saddle cracked.

Wow! You must have some sharp seat bones ;)
And how are your wheels?

Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Mullet shifting for gravel
« on: August 07, 2022, 11:32:50 PM »
Yep! a dozen of them.
Started with the SRAM etap HRD first gen 11sp, with a 40T garbaruk ring and a 11/36 cassette.
Then with AXS Red and Force shifters, with Rival ones at the end of this month.
And AXS Eagle XX1, X01 and now GX derailleurs.
Usually with a 46T ring round or 44 oval and 10/50 or 10/52 cassettes.
Even one with an AXS Reverb, hitting both shifter pads to trigger it.

A friend went with a mechanical 12sp Eagle derailleur and the Gevenalle lever.
But in this case you need to check where the shifter cable exit the frame.
Road/Gravel bikers have the cable exit at the very end of the seatstay/chainstay.
While an MTB derailleur is designed for a cable exit below the chainstay, forcing you to an unusual hose path to the derailleur.
Here is a good set of options: https://bikepacking.com/gear/guide-to-mullet-drivetrains/

Hi Carbonazza,
What head unit do you use?

The Karoo 2, and it seems to work well.
The pairing was instant.
It detects the cars behind, show a left bar with color codes based on distance.
And I got an alert on screen when I turned the light off.
I'll do more testing end of August, and check if there are more advanced options.

I did order it today on aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004540845201.html
The EUR/USD hurts but after riding with a friend with a Varia, I'm convinced it helps when riding solo.
And I like the brand.
