I tried contacting Speeder through their live chat, but instead of answering my questions, they just closed the chat.

I also had a spacing issue with that ZRACE crank. IIRC, the issue was that I could not get enough preload to remove the slack, without overtightening the crank. I solved it by adding a wave washer to take up the slack.

With regards to gear ratio's, I am a relatively low power cyclist (FTP around 2.6W/kg), so I prefer a lowest gear that's smaller than 1:1, so I can keep my cadence above 70RPM on climbs.

Does anyone know of a good and up-to-date time trial frame (with disc brakes) that's UCI-legal (so not just for triathlon)?

Yeah I ran into the same issue. I don't get why you would ever use a lockring with external toothing. I find them harder to install, and they've never fitted in any of the frames I tried them with.

I'm guessing they're identical to the LightCarbon ones?
If so, I've had a lot of LightCarbon wheelsets (road and gravel, with disc brakes). Build quality was excellent. My only issue has been tubeless tyre compatibility. Some tyres fit perfectly, others just won't pop into place without an inner tube. Although this may be a general problem with tubeless tyres ....

The rear brake mount looks painted over. I'd definitely have that faced before you install the brake caliper.

I would go for this one https://www.flybike-asia.com/product/148.html ( by Carbonda ) if I didn't have to put 6cm of spacers under his stem although Carbonda told me it is safe.

Does Carbonda offer that model? It crossed my path as well because of it's low reach/high stack ratio. However, the seat tube may be too short for a 1m95 rider, depending on their leg length.

@mirphak, did you check https://www.yishunbike.com/product/g075-d-gravel/?

Their size 56 has stack 589 with reach 374. Yes, the wheelbase is slightly longer and the angles slightly slacker, but if you're that worried about getting a low reach, then I assume you're already running a short stem, in which case you'll benefit from a stabler geometry.

69
@mirpak: Yeah,  it's hard to find really low reach on Chinese frames. The Carbonda's are still the best fit for me, and if you go for the 696 gravel frame (long wheelbase, slacker angles) you can get away with a short stem (80-90mm). This isn't possible with endurance frames such as the 1056, as their wheelbase is much shorter, so you need a longer (normal sized) stem for stable handling.

You could try one of these:
https://www.yishunbike.com/product/g075-d-gravel/
https://www.yishunbike.com/product/g085-dgravel/

Yishun is a big OEM, and I believe they don't offer custom painting on single frame orders, but the quality so far has been excellent.

One thing I'm always worried about with the flush stem/top tube is that the bike only looks okay in the most aggressive fit

Yeah, at least Cervelo compensates this with a positive stem angle, but that's not the case here. Unless you're a gymnast, you probably can't ride this frame.

I've ordered quite a lot of frames from Carbonda. You can just tell them what color you want, or sketch out your design if you want multiple colors, or decals. You can use RAL Classic colors, and some special ones (chameleon etc).

Of the paint jobs I've had them do, most were top-notch (no different from the paint jobs on the mid-tier Specialized frames I used to ride), with only one frame having a small issue (I think someone scratched it after painting and they quickly painted over it, but that paint wasn't smooth).

I wouldn't ride any counterfeits even if they payed me to do so. In most places, it's illegal to knowingly buy counterfeit products, so whoever produces them doesn't have to care about quality, safety, or warranty...

Just pay a little more and get a quality Chinese frame.

Is that a steel spindle?

Unfortunately, no subcompact offering :(

Do you have a link to those? I can't find any Racework carbon cranks.

They should hire a designer :D
Slapping a big white logo on your products just yells "cheap".
