I'm on Tiagra 4700 10s here so not the usual 11/12 speed groups which are more common around the forum (here in Brazil groups are really expensive so I'm still holding on the upgrade)

I usually rely on KMC X10 which I think offers a good cost-benefit, easy to find it for 20usd (or less) on aliexpress and last 7-8.000km or more depending on ride conditions

I've had one shimano 10s in the past, but I got it too cheap and think it was fake, before 6.000km it was already >0.7 wear...
it's easy to find cheap ones in Aliexpress too, but then I'm a bit concerned about the quality, and prefer to risk it on the KMC's - which I know there's a lot of fakes around, but even if the ones I got are fakes they at least lasted long enough

then right now I'm trying out the YBN, got a good value on a 10S one, it's about 2.000km and all good by now, but still a lot to ride before making my mind

got this new launch from IGPSports, the BSC300 for around USD 120 https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/1005005670708376.html
seems a great deal considering the features... colored screen, full map for navigation (although it doesn't reroute if you go out of route), 8 data fields and a lot more details

I'm currently on a Bryton 420, about 1.5 yrs using it, it works great and has all the features I'm comfortable paying for - being totally honest, because getting upgrade on screen size or mapping jumps the price a lot and then it's out of budget for me

IGPSport somewhat divides opinions, some people have a great experience and some had the worst possible. What I seem to gather is that for the cheapest most affordable models they work really well and with few issues, but the more feature heavy and expensive stuff they had some issues overtime, and especially the app is bugged
but my impression is that they're evolving a lot the past year or so, the old igs618/620 series had bad reviews but the igs630 seem to have improved a lot. Same with this new BSC series, the 100 and 200 have been around for some months and have good reviews, I just hope the 300 is similar ;)

the YKYWB socks I'd not recommend, I've got like 3 pairs - all received as gifts on orders of 2+ pieces (just ask and you should get some gift too :D)
after some months of use the fabric gets loose, not enough anymore to be tight on the shin and just drop to the ankle, so not good.

Spexcel ones on the other hand (also received as gift upon asking) are really good, nicer fabric and finishing, and are holding well over 1,5yrs of use

I've also got ones from the same 'sportspy store', with some kind of 'mesh' fabric (here), these ones impressed me, high finishing quality and comfortable fabric, and are pretty cheap too

the Liteskins I've never tried, I've got a bit frustrated and traumatized with 'common' fabric socks (not the tight aero with silicone style) I've got in the past which got loose too fast - they were the cheapest ones too, so bad on my side anyway lol

ones that I'm really curious lately are these ones from GRC - they seem like a more boutique brand from China, lot of more expensive products but also some more affordable ones, not a lot of sales on Aliexpress (seem recent) but the website and instagram looks good
at this price and with the extra discounts, seem like a really good deal, unfortunately, I'm over my budget right now so will have to wait a bit to check it out (also I have too many socks lol)
the store also has some more aero options, and merino too, but much higher price point.

For not much more depending on your local tax, the BXT carbon gravel frame is going for sub $400 USD right now.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804540425938.html?
I'd warn to stay away from BXT. They've made a really bad name for themselves, at least here in Brazil, over the last 1-2yrs
A lot of broken frames cases, both road or mtb, and then really bad aftersales. When they're contacted for warranty (Aliexpress store) they just ghost the buyer, or they threaten to only fulfill if the buyer deletes all bad comments about it made on Aliexpress and social media

and another power meter special, this time crank dual sided Magene P325 CS on Zrace arms https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004037853598.html
interesting collab! I have the P325CS complete set - the one from Kickstarter years ago - and although many people had issues, mine always worked really well, and the power is on par with my smart trainer (a Dare2Ride, seems the same as JetBlack Volt or Zwift Hub)

but at that pricepoint, I believe the P505 or the Sigeyi sets (posted a while back), are better options

I need new cycling jerseys for road biking. What's the latest word on DAREVIE and SPEXCEL?
Any other brand recommendation?
Take some time to read the last ~5 pages, there's a bunch of reviews and feedback about both these brands and YKYWBike too

From my experience, Ykywbike and Darevie are the way to go, more trustworthy products and good aftersales - I always can negotiate some extra coupon when placing an order (except over big sales, like right now), and the few issues I had I could work out through the chat and get some discount or gift in the next order.
Now, Spexcel also has nice quality (I have 3 jerseys here and all good >1,5yr of use) but lately I've seen diverging opinions, some people having quality issues with them. Also, the aftersales is bad, they don't talk much on the chat and the time I had issues (dimensions different from the size table) I could only work it out with a dispute. So although I still look for their products, I take it a bit more as a gamble than the others...

The 22.70 is indeed the normal price I also see when I go trough the shop itself. But in the Android app on the main page I these "Super Deals". Prices here are lower but most of the time the colours and/or sizes are restricted... The price I see now is 18.89 USD. There is for example an even lower price for these shirts, but only available in red or orange and sizes M and up. I need S so I could not use that. Price for those is 15.59 USD at the moment.

I am a diamond member, so maybe it has something to do with that?? They claim I get 15% off because of this status, but I never thought that was true...
yeah, the account level influences from what I know, but also changes according to product and color/size, there are very specific promotions
looking at the Super Deals page is always good practice, Darevie, Ykywbike and Rion have been doing frequent sales there with special prices, but also limited quantities, so need to be quick

Was the torque issue with the carbon stem? I ended up going with a lightweight sub-100g UNO stem. The mounting hardware works great and even though they say 4nm for carbon bars, I tend to still push it to 5nm. I had an issue awhile back with 4nm not being sufficient (bar slipped paired to a carbon stem).
yes, both in the stem. lol
stem-fork interface 1st, had issues but after adding some extra torque it fixed well (it's originally spec'd at 5 or 6Nm). Talking with my mechanic, we found that the stem is a bit out of tolerance, the 'cylinder' is not as it should so you need it extra tight otherwise there's some play.

then when installing the computer mount had the same situation, on the mount-stem interface had to add some extra torque to properly fix it, but is working well since then.
worth mentioning that when assembling the handlebar to stem with the original screws and according to spec, all worked well. it's when I changed to the computer mount screws (longer) that the issues appeared (with spec'd torque it needed some vibration, or hitting a pothole, and the handlebar twisted)

97
I recently switched to narrow drop bars which didn't fit my bar clamp gps mount, so I had to get a stem gps mount. I ordered the OG-EVKIN stem gps mount and the quality is top notch. The carbon mount is well-machined and solid and the mounting hardware is very good. It even comes with a pair of M5x30mm rainbow titanium screws.

I'm really impressed by the quality of hardware coming from both LEXON/RYET and now OG-EVKIN. There's a lot of shade/hate being thrown at AliEx bike gear, but at this rate this stuff is going to surpass western brands.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804856697418.html
my whole cockpit is og-evkin, the mentioned mount CM002, plus HB002 and SM004 (the exact combination in the description of the link you shared, lol
each part is really well finished, it's 2yrs of use and all good, I only had some issues with the torque, it requires a bit over the spec to properly fix, but other than that all good

for headlights, +1 on the Gaciron.
I got a 1400lm and it works well over what I need, also good that it works with the gopro mount and it's quick release, so really practical. It's not the cheapest, but it's high quality and will hold well over time (I have friends using their products for over 4yrs with no issues)

the Towild seem to be really good too, from the reviews I see around.
Now the Rockbros, Geoid, Thinkrider, and such, these don't actually manufacture the products but stamp their brand on them. Nothing wrong, but some Rockbros models are Gaciron's, if you look closely. So could be worth the research to get the best price. :)

for tail lights, I went over some different ones
MagicShine were by far the best, and it's a well know brand in the west too, so it's a safe choice
Infitnix is also a good option, I got 2 lights from them, but the water sealing sucks so I ran into issues (after some shower it just don't turn off). The warranty came through and replaced it, but now it's just my backup light

if you want radar light, then take a look at Magene and Bryton too, both are the best price you can get

recently got 2 new pieces from YKYW
this shirt which the fabric seems a bit different then the others I have from them, nice touch and comfortable, good fit.
and this windvest which I'm honestly impressed. The fabric is light and comfortable, it has a type of lycra on the cuffs which help a lot with putting on/taking off, it's well ventilated but I still was well protected from the wind and cold (7 deg C riding with base layer+jersey+windvest, and all good)
It's a major upgrade on the old windvest I got from them (one of the cheapest)

it's just first impressions and still need to check the durability, but it seems good by now

YKYWbike: Love the atheistic of their jerseys, but realising they are deteriorating faster the most others jerseys ie 10 to 15 rides and they are worse that jerseys bought over 5 years ago with 50 or more rides in them. Bought their Korea lycra cargo bibs, first impressions great, so I bought a second pair with the Elastic Interface pad, but again after regular use (maybe 20 rides each) the soft, compressive lycra is a little harsh and lost some compression. Really rate their base layers and socks.
nice post and thanks for sharing the experience!
interesting take on the YKYW, for me it's the other way around, some of the best experience and like 70% of my weardrobe it's from them...

the shirts seem to loosen quicker, but still get 1,5yrs on them until it starts to be bad to wear.. but the bibs I got from them are all still good and compressing well, even after over 2yrs of weekly use

The first one you linked. I don't really do rides under 3 hours so I'm skeptical of any "good for short rides only" reviews
yeah, I have these ones in blue with the purple chamois (Venom90 it seems to be named). The quality is very good, and to be honest seems to be the best at this price range, fits very well, it's comfortable.. all good
For me it works really well for 3-4 hours, above that starts to get a bit harsh. But be aware I'm 62kg ;D lol

Component Deals & Selection / Re: chinese carbon saddles

I’ve had the 7D on my gravel bike for around a year, so far it’s been solid. I bought it since it was one of the only ones I could find in 140 mm wide.
yeah, my experience too, I bought the 5D (when the brand was still 'Redshift', before they got a warning and changed to 'Mixed') and used it for about 1yr - before I changed to the Ryet Aircode 3D mentioned some comments ago
anyway, well constructed and finished saddle the 5D, no issues in this year of use and is now my backup saddle. But I weight 63kg, so not the worst a saddle can be put through lol

101
just a +1 on the Lexon saddle (Ryet Aircode is the model, if I'm not wrong), I've commented some pages ago but I think it's worth mentioning

the construction is really well done, the rail bond as mentioned is much better than most chinese carbon saddles, the 3D is 'simple' but seems good, been 3 months and it's holding well I believe (and hope) it'll last long.. Shape is a complex subject, it's too personal, but I've adapted well to the 'pro stealth' shape it has, the wider nose and the relief channel I like a lot, no discomfort in long rides

as far as the advantages of the 3D print surface, I honestly think it's still mostly marketing at this time - even if you go to the top of the range ones, from Specialized, Fizik, SelleItalia...
it really doesn't seem to do anything much different then a good advanced foam padding does. Dif density is something doable with padding, the weight is not so different as far as I know. Maybe one benefit is that the 3D structure keeps it's shape even after long hours of use (at least theoretically), while foam is bound to compress and require some time to go back to the original shape - this could impact comfort in really long rides.

Since we don't have a sub forum for product reviews, just wanted to warn people about cheapo speed/cadence sensors from Ali-Ex. To be exact, these ones: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2261800105285991.html

They suck battery like there is no tomorrow. On average I changed batteries on them every week. But that is not the only issue. Annoyingly enough, they keep waking up Garmin Edge unit on my bike every 5-7 minutes like a clockwork. It would be working fine and then suddenly the unit will show "speed sensor found" or "cadence sensor found", this will stay for about 5-7 seconds and go. Then 5 minutes later same thing. If I had both speed and cadence sensors, the screen will blink back to back for both sensors. Crazy. The battery life of the Edge 530 dropped to half because of so much screen usage.
if the main idea is to warn people not to buy it, I believe it's worth mentioning the name directly, so at least it shows up on searches and such. :)
Cycplus have been investing and launching a bunch of different products but since GPLama had a lot of issues with their trainer, and few support from them (or empty promises), I honestly don't trust or wanna be near the brand.. If they cannot show support and fix their most expensive product, what kind of development effort they put on the cheap stuff?

now back to sensors, I run Xoss' speed and cadence sensor, and IGPSport HR40 chest strap for 3,5yrs now and it's all well
the Xoss sensor drains battery a bit, I get around 100h on a Panasonic CR2032, although much less than promised (300h iirc) I still find it ok
the IGPS HR40 I get bit more than 150h, also find it ok..

signal with both brands is very good, when it's faulty I know it's time for a new cr2032.. had very few issues with them, and they're approaching 1000h of use, so pretty good for a low cost product

103
Does the mesh style top not get dirty? It looks like nightmare to clean
I ride road only so it's a non-issue (at least by now), so mostly the dirt and grime stays in the wheels and frame but not up to the saddle. I tested throwing some water in the 3D structure and it drained well through the sides, but am not sure if it can clean a lot...

for mtb or even gravel, I think would be something to be much more concerned about, though. If it's only dirt, maybe some water would be enough, but sure would be a nightmare if the dirt gets really inside the structure - probably would need to remove it, let it inside a bucket deep in water for something to soften, then get out and be able to get it clean..

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805023659024.html

Lexon has a carbon 3D printed saddle on sale. This is the cheapest carbon version I've seen. Most AliEx searches deceptively shows the non-carbon saddle price while the carbon version is priced much higher.
I have these on my bike for bit over a month now, unfortunately couldn't ride so much as I used to but got about 35h on them
gotta say the material and finishing quality surprised me a bit, got some micro resin failures in the back which have no impact other than visual, and some glue excess which also have no bad effect. The carbon bonding is what got me, the rail is really well bonded to the saddle, not just like 'glued' as it's with most cheap carbon saddles (which I had 3 or 4)

just don't expect too much of the 3D web, it seems to be the same through all the area of the saddle, not like the Specialized, Fizik and others which have different layering and density depending on the area for different support - but, of course, what you'd expect for that price?
it's still a very decent saddle and it's comfortable, I think was an ok cost to try it and am happy with it (by now, at least)

from what I understand, there are some different scenarios...
a. open mould frames, often different companies operating within the same factory and sharing moulds
b. replica moulds, reverse engineering to get to a frame design but with slight differences
c. counterfeit moulds, chinese factory manufactures for western brand, normally it's in the contract they should destroy the mould after the lifespan but it ends up continuing to be used - either the same factory or a friend/sister chinese company

If I remember correctly, it's Elves that produces (some?) Cervelo frames, I think that on some Francis Cade video he inspected the frame and it had some cervelo inner parts which indicated 'same component/same factory' situation. Or like this Ican/Factor situation below
I work in the home appliance industry and we go through similar stuff with our chinese suppliers/factories.

The thing that most people get wrong is that the manufacturing process and quality verification are much more important than the mould
if the chinese company just uses the same mould but has a shit process, then it's going to be a good looking frame but shit riding, and unreliable

that's not to piss on all replica frames, just that it's not that simple.. I honestly think that there are some companies that make replica's and could have a good process.. just that personally I prefer not to endorse and go with an open mould, for instance

Is it the same mould? I remember chris miller mentioning that some chinese company that does direct to consumer had the factor moulds and would start selling them this year, people were saying ICAN tho.
