For those asking about zero seatpost. Here's the measurements of the seatpost:
front view: 26mm
side view: 45.5mm

not a very common measurements as far as I know. But check out this Ali ad:
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807058255216.html
look at the SP045 seatpost, at least one of the measurement matched, you need to confirm with the seller about the side measurement and whether it's zero offset (looks like it could be).

Wishing you luck finding one on Ali....

Hi

Has anyone find a zero offset seatpost to match this frame design ? Desperately looking for one as Tantan does not make it.
Thanks,

Thank you for the answers and ride review!

When you say about grommet missing for the front brake, do you mean the spot where front brake hose comes out from the inside of the front fork leg? To me, usually there is nothing there, just a raw cutout...
My other bike got one for the fork leg hose

As far as changing seatpost - do you know of any compatible alternatives? NO. Need to look into it

Can you tell me the handlebar's model number they are shipping the frame with? Is it HB010 or HB015? Not sure. Just the standard one they supplied with that frame

Did you get the downtube storage pouch/sock with the delivery? Yes

Thanks.

Hello Everyone

I wanted to update you on the riding experience after an intense weekend of riding

Friday : solo endurance ride 130KM - 1350mD+ - 206w average for 30km/h with the Tantan
Saturday : Group ride 100k - 1000mD+ 203w average for 31 km/h with my Canyon Aeroad CFR
Sunday : Group ride 130k - 1000mD+ 181w average for 31km/h with the Tantan

Overall the Tantan does not hold me back and i expect to get the same speed for the same power.

Handling, cornering, feeling at high speed: 5/5
Stiffness: 5/5
Comfort 3.5/5 The rear end feels stiffer than my Canyon. It does not filter as much. I would expect maybe more compliance from an all road set up. Definitely needs larger tires with less pressures to bring more comfort.

Overall pretty happy with the ride. Remember that my i make the comparison with a Canyon Aeorad CFR which is proven to be a fantastic bike. I am thinking about maybe changing the seatpost as a lot of the compliance on the canyon comes from the seat post. I also want to get rid of the offset

Thank you!

I assume you don't have problems with to long a rear axle, nor you have any rubbing of the headset cover against top of the head tube?

What is your feeling about the latching mechanism of the downtube compartment cover?

I know this is a lot of questions... but I have more!

Did the frame came with the rubber grommets (?) for the RD/FD cables coming from inside the frame?

Can you elaborate more on how you have overcame the "too little" clearance for the chainset? Rotor gravel axle and what spacers? What T47BB did you use?

Thanks.

No issues with rear axle, headset, latching mechanism
I was supplied with rear grommets (RD and brakes) but nothing for FD and front break for some reasons. I did not take care of that yet.

I went for a Rotor axle which is basically longer, and got me an extra 3mm insurance on each side which i covered with the spacers for that intent. The bottom bracket is ZTTO T47 BB

Hi, did you get all the small pieces needed with the frame? People buying the sister frame, longteng rd301-d, where missing the seatpost wedge and cover... They also had problems with rear thru axle play (to long axle) and unsecure latach mechanism for closing the downtube storage compartment. Was the sock for the compartment included?

Could you tell us where you bought the frame and how much was it? What is the frame's size by the way?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi. Here is what i paid. Everything was included and went fine except what i already mentioned with 105 di2 FD and chainring clearance.

The sock was included.

I will only be putting miles in at the end of the months. I will quickly know if i like it or not. Coming from a Canyon Aeroad CFR

I'm such a greedy consumer. Whenever I see a shiny new bike build in this forum I always think "Hey I wanna build up and test that frame too!"

Can't help myself. Well done sir.

Would love to see you doing a review of that frame. Good job on your channel btw !

Good looking bike! I like the white paint. It looks to have really massive tire clearance? Any estimate on what tire size it could go up to? It's a little funky that they call it a road frame but it does seem more gravely.

It is advertised as an all-road bike.

Hello everyone, here is my go at it.

First time building a bike from scratch and obviously first time buying a frame direct from China.

Frame, fork & cockpit : Tantan FM301
Groupset : 105 di2 12v (without crankset and consumables)
Crankset : Rotor Aldhu with powermeter (from a previous bike)
Wheelset : DT Swiss 1400 48mm/62mm (spare)
Cheap jockey wheel from Ali
KMC chain

1 - Overall pretty satisfied with the build although i did not get to try the bike on the road (recovering from knee surgery). I like how it looks which is already a good thing

2 - The package was delivered damaged but the frame was well protected.

3 - Seems like this bike was designed for a gravel groupset. The FD hanger was not compatible with 105 di2 for 52/36 rings (sitting too low). I had to modify the hanger to make it work.
I also went for a gravel crank axle with spacers to increase Q Factor and compensate for little to no clearance with the frame.

It either fits, or it doesnt. The chain is always far away from the area where the ring almost meets the frame. As long as this "almost" is more than zero by a sufficient margin to maybe allow for some flex and grit, then no problem. And sometimes you have to use a shim. I had the problem with a non shimano crankset on a velobuild gravel frame, i had to shim it a tiny bit. It just needs to clear the frame, you dont need ample space.

Well, i disagree. There needs to be a minimum gap, at least as wide as a chain width to cope with chain fall off, debris...

And in my case, my power meter does not fit. Hopefully it will with the gravel axle and 3mm worth of spacers.

Hello
I have just received my Tantan FM301 size 58. Ordered in December and received end of Jan.

Overall pretty satisfied with what i have seen so far and attention to details but i am still building the bike.

However i am very surprised and concerned by the lack of clearance between the frame and the small chainring. The original plan was to fit a Rotor Adlhu crank that i had but i will have to buy a new axle with bigger Q factor (Gravel 24mm axle with 152mm Q). I don't think this bike should be built with a regular road axle (147mm Q for Rotor Aldhu). The issue is coming from the downtube being almost as wide as the BB.

What do you think ?

Considering the price, I Choose Praxis T47 – I.B. SHIMANO.
Magene P505 is compatible with Shimano(24mm), so it will work in your case too.

If you have extra money, you can choose change the better bearing(like NTN or ZEN) or you can go Chrisking if you are rich enough.

Because there are several BB brands, find the bb with those terms and choose based on your preference : T47 internal, shimano(24mm).

Thanks for your reply.

Magene website says that T47 is not compatible with their crankset. Have you actually installed one ? Do you have pictures of your build ?
thanks,

Hello

I ordered this frame.

Could you please share which T47BB you can recommend ?

Also does anyone know if a Magene P505 crank would fit ? Seems to be a gamble with T47 frames

thanks,

Hi everyone

What would be the difference between Tantan and longteng on this 301 execution ? This is open mold but is the carbon layup the same as well ?

Thanks,
