Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Winspace T1550
« on: March 29, 2025, 04:20:01 AM »
My t1550 gen2 went out for shipping yesterday and I see 2 worrying topics about  winspace here. I m starting to regret paying a premium forma a brand that was supposed to be good. I should have gone for the quickpro with a small premium on pandapodium por save some money and straight from factory.

Winspace doesnt seem appealing anymore, the xray sh*t that they advertise just seems like a gimmick, and their QC only works for youtube/instagram cl*wns.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Stone 2x Chainrings?
« on: March 24, 2025, 01:46:56 AM »
I did end up getting the Stone 50-34t, 5 bolt chainrings. Unfortunately there were some issues with the Winspace C5 frame they were supposed to go on so I have not been able to put them on a bike yet. I ended up sending the frame back and am currently waiting on a replacement that will hopefully arrive in the next 1-2 weeks.

What were the issues with the frame? Im wqiting forma a winspace frameset that wont be built until i get al the partes and i would like to do muy own QC In advance

All road, but only 32C? No t47? That sounds dated.
Expensive, but no weight info ?
The T800/T1000 without weight could be 99.9pc t800 and a stamp size piece of t1000.
The fork looks very non aerodynamic.

Bb86 is better than t47 if done right, does your car use threaded or pressfit bearings?

I think that the weight is given unpainted.

Ordered the same bike in same colour and size, 105 steam. I'm 183 cm.

I just finished watching the Trace Velo video on the new system and I, too, am disappointed to see the magnetic charging option completely removed. I understand, and welcome, the addition of the USB-C charging. But, the magnetic, break-away charging port - even if imperfect - was what I preferred.

I have kids around, and my biggest fear has always been that one of them bump or try to move my bike while I'm not around and not realize it was charging.
Use a powerbank that is attached to the bike, second bottlecage is a good location for it.

550.  I ride a 58 typically and this fits me perfectly

What's your height? In want to get the xl because stack and reach fit me well but 835 mm standover height is a bit tight for my liking.

Looking at the seller page, the seller is based in Spain! that's almost guaranteed it's a scam. Someone from Spain selling Chinese brand bikes on a Chinese online platform with a dirt cheap prices?

please report the seller to the AE.

It s not uncommon for aliexpress brands to have european sellers

Has anyone been able to update to the new firmware on the rear deraileur? App news shows new firmware update on the news section but when I go to update section on the phone app no update appears there.

Wheeltop android app was updated today, will check if there is a firmware update tomorrow for bike parts.

Still ni icon for the android app, which is kind of wierd after all the effort that they are doing with (mostly) useless youtubers.

I am thinking in upgrading my 10mm thru axle steel fork from my cotic escapade. I m looking for something with 12mm thru axle for easy wheel swap compatibility an straight 1/8 tube. Dont care if it has extra mounts or not. Nothing to fancy but ideally well built.

Thanks in advance

This is exactly what I've gone for from PeterWheels on here. I love them and an absolute bargain.

Lovely bike, where did you get that orqnge chainring from?

You aren't missing anything good because there is no such option for that combo. I would try cheap original SRAM dub bottom bracket, see how it works in your setup and decide afterwards  what to install.

When bleeding the caliper (which was a disaster) the rubber o-ring snapped. It leaks without it. Does anyone know the spec for a replacement?

You can check the other caliper, but i think it might be easier to get a shimano, magura or campagnolo caliper. You can easily spend the 30€ that a shimano caliper costs in petrol to look for the oring, plus wheeltop pads still work in shimano caliper.

Shimano 105 or magura mt4 are cheap And work well. My braking combo wheeltop-magura mt4 feels much better than my xtr mtb, shimano road And sram rival it replaced. Time will tell how it works in the long térm but for now it s almost perfect.

Finally got everything installed, lever feel is great with magura calipers, the bits is well modulated but strong. Indexing was easy and pretty painless.

Yeah, I've got a spare cable on it's way. I don't ever like to have electronic gear with proprietary connectors without a backup.  :)  But I don't think I'd want to even try to pull power from my phone (I'm not sure iPhones support it but I'm curious now)  But definitely a battery pack if away for a while.

My phone has a 4600mah battery, wheeltop battery is 800mah, 100-200 mah from a phone battery is a tiny percentage. Powerbank can stay in the hotel or garage.

Question to those who've been running Wheeltop groupsets for a while (GeX or otherwise):

Is the app battery status indicator reliable? (IOW is it reasonably accurate in representing SoC and tracking consistently)

I went out for 4 hour ride this weekend and it went UP from 83% to 85%. If the battery lasts the 20k shifts that Wheeltop claims (GeX), that's totally explainable by the nature of state of charge approximations and the battery being COLD in the morning and warm when I got home (IOW down a few % of use but up a few more % worth of voltage due to temps).  But it could also be erratic readings. I'd like to be able to trust the general level reported.

No idea, I'm planning to buy an extra charger cable + usbc-usba adapter to add to my recur kit, it adds less weight than a tire lever and you can charge the deraileur with your phone.
