65mm / 26mm int / 34mm ext
5.0 mm wide spokes. I chose T800 over the T1100.
Still lighter than I anticipated. Need to check again but I think around 1384g

Is it a paintless or glossy finish? I would say glossy, but I'm unsure.

Very nicely balanced build!

I followed up with DHL regarding the tracking information...

Apparently, my email address was mistakenly linked to this shipment. During their data check, it became clear that the package is actually addressed to a completely different person.

That being said, according to the tracking info, my package has now arrived in Amsterdam and is supposedly being handed over to DPD.

This whole thing feels like a detective story...

I have my tracking information now, but it is from DHL. I have received an email that customs clearance has been completed. The parcel was sent via the Netherlands and should arrive tomorrow.

I don't quite understand this. I thought it was being sent by DPD. The tracking number provided for DPD still says "waiting to be picked up". I also have to pay "import duties" of €20. My gut feeling tells me that the parcel was not sent with a "prepaid taxes shipping method". However, when it arrives, it's ok for me, albeit a bit annoying.

However, a shipping time of 9 business days is really short. There's really nothing to complain about and the support from Chris at Velobuild has always been good with questions. Even after the order.

Chris told me my frame was picked up by the agent (5days ago), but if I check tracking id in 17track.net I get: "Your package is waiting to be picked up by the carrier"

If I check in DPD China it says: "NOT FOUND"

How long does it take to be updated?

Are there any updates on the shipping status of your order? When I call up my tracking number, I see exactly the same thing. For 6 days it says “Your package is waiting to be picked up by the carrier.”

And another question for the frequent buyers from China:
Are these shipping times normal in China? Does it always take this long after ordering for the goods to be dispatched? Is this related to the seller or is this a general problem with the shipping service providers within China?

Yes, I went through the v-br-218 topic almost completely before I bought it. I “calculated” the risk into the build and accepted it. The rim brake frame will be used indoors next year.

I'm from Hamburg, so I'll only be riding on the flat and only on good roads. I hope the frame can take it :D.

I would also like to try painting it myself and see the frame as a “test object” for my next disc project. I wouldn't be too sad if a complex paint job at home doesn't work out. Then I'll just paint it all black, I've managed that before.

VB is still liquidating this very popular model with users on this forum:

XS / XXS only, idk the size you need.

Yes, that was option 2. I've already bought it... :D

Thank you, that is valuable information for me. Then I'd better not buy the frame and look around for an alternative.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Experience with TT-X8?

Hi Folks,

does anyone have experience with this frame? I know it's older, but I would still like to know if it's any good. I haven't found any information in the forum.

I would like to replace my old rim brake aluminum frame (the frame is one size too big for me) with a carbon frame to bridge the time while I build up a disc frame. The disc frame will be assembled with more expensive components, which I will buy second hand over the year.

Since the frame will be available tomorrow at AliX at a reasonable price (~350€ including shipping) I am really thinking about buying it. Stem, handlebars, wheels and the Shimano Ultegra R8000 groupset should be able to be taken over 1 to 1 (except for the required direct mount brakes). So is it a no brainer?

Is this perhaps an open mold frame that another supplier also uses, for which there is experience? Any experiences would be appreciated

Is there any chance of getting pictures of an assembled frame in size M (50)?

Beautiful frame. Looks very similar to the Winspace C5 Aero. However, it has minimal differences in geometry.

Can someone please enlighten me? If I want to paint the frame myself and need the visible carbon as a basis for the paint scheme, what do I order? Is UD matte the right one? Can you see the carbon here? Or do you need "raw carbon"? Unfortunately, I don't understand the differences. Is the "UD matte" selection just a transparent primer over the carbon?

The Spcycle R065 has received good reviews here in the forum and looks very similar to the Canyon Aeroad. Without handlebar the frame costs 458$. Here is the thread:

Hi Guys,
as I feel that all the frames I like can't be sent to Germany, I'm thinking of buying the SL8 clone. I'm still unsure about the size and don't know which one fits better. Is there perhaps someone here who has similar measurements? I am 173cm tall and have an inseam of 78cm.

I'm currently riding an old CAAD5 frame in 54 (see attachment). A really great frame. Unfortunately, it's too big. I feel a bit like I'm "sliding forward" on the saddle. The frame has a reach of 396, the top tube is 545, my stem is 90 and the handlebars have a reach of 70.

For the SL8 Clone I'm thinking of size 52 with a 90 / 100 stem or 49 with a longer stem. If anyone has roughly the same dimensions and gets on well with a particular setup (even with other frames), I would be happy to get some advices.

Alternatively, I'm also considering whether the XMC CS-R01 would be better due to its more relaxed geometry. However, I am physically fit enough to ride a sporty geometry.

It's possible TFSA is an OEM for a German bike brand. That brand might have regional exclusive rights, hence TFSA doesn't ship there.

Yep, I think so too. I don't know where all these dealers are. All the frames I like cannot be delivered to Germany. Speeder, for example, doesn't deliver to Germany either - for the same reason.

I tried my luck at adapt and asked if they might sell to the end consumer after all. Maybe I'll be lucky

Nope, this was their answer. I didn’t ask for an explanation.
