I've also bought an ultegra di2 from AliX which works absolutely fine. All parts pair up with the Shimano app which implied to me that they are genuine.

In terms of warranty, I would have thought that Shimano would deal with that themselves? What woul dhappen if you bought a groupset from say, Wiggle, in the UK. Who have now gone bust. You'd be in the same situation?

Fingers crossed I don't need to test this assumption

I would go normal version since the weight difference isnt worth double the money.
Beware though; at this moment it is not possible to buy the frame from RK with the “Laser” logo. So only black, white or gold logo is possible right now.

Interesting, RK said that the green one was available, which is the one I had asked about.

Thanks both for advising, normal version is what I was thinking too, especially as it's just a fun project as opposed to my main ride.

I've been chatting briefly with RK Ultra Extreme Carbon Fiber Store Store on AliX based on trawling through this thread.

Almost ready to pull the trigger, but just have a question about the difference between 'ordinary' and 'ultralight'
all i can get from RK is that the difference is 'Lighter weight and better materials', but can anyone else provide a little more advice, what did you go for and is it worth almost double the price?

Ordinary £651.19
Ultralight £1,146.19

E-Bike Frames & Builds / eMTB
« on: May 28, 2025, 08:37:26 AM »
So I am guessing that the ebike space is a path less travelled by most people on Chinertown...
I guess I am normally in the road bike space too.

However, I am in the market for an eMTB

Does anyone have experience of buys?
I have a roadbike from LightCarbon which I'm pretty happy with, I see they also do eMTB frames too. Does anyone have experience on them?

as well as frames, has anyone bought motors or batteries from China?

TIA
