Looking for a good quality (not weightweenie saving that last gram) flat (or slight rise) carbon MTB bar.  Width doesn't matter (for my kid).

Some back sweep probably wouldn't hurt but not required.

Cheers

Hey all,

I've purchased lots of presta valve cores on Ali, but I find most of them are pretty low flow/poor quality.  Anybody have any vendor suggestions/links for 'good' presta valve cores (bulk of 10 more or is fine)?

Thanks

What INBIKE men's jersey is the most 'aero'?

Also, sizing suggestions, I'm 178cm and 79kg (reasonably wide shoulders).  Thanks!

I can't get ANY of the choice coupon codes to work. If they did, some items might be worth it.

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Re: 11.11 Sale Predictions?

Thanks all, glad to hear it makes sense to wait for 11.11.  If nothing else, prices likely won't be higher 'after' 11.11 than they are now.

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / 11.11 Sale Predictions?
« on: October 09, 2024, 08:27:39 AM »
Wondering if folks are expecting any good Ali 11.11 sale deals this year?

I will likely hold off on some purchases in hopes there will be some pretty good deals.  Specifically I'm eyeing up Ultegra Di2 (12 spd) groups.. does anybody remember the prices on these being lower during 11.11 last year?

Cheers

26er & 27.5 (650b) / Re: BXT 24" build

Jeff,

Full build picture didn't seem to work, can you try again?

What did you go with for the drivetrain/crank?

@highwind  How do you like the CSC wheels?

@Chris948

What wheels did you use for your build pictured?  Looks like a mullet setup w/ 26" front wheel?

I'm looking for a small 26er for my 9 year old daughter, similar to the DIY carbon option.  The weight weenie aspect is easy enough on these bikes other than the wheels, anybody find any cheap carbon wheels in 26"?  The kids are so light that I'm not that worried about them being 'strong' enough (most things will be).

Component Deals & Selection / Chainring Bolts - hex on both sides?
« on: January 30, 2024, 09:18:21 AM »
I 'hate' the old school chainring bolts that have the notches on the back side.  I know SRAM and some other brand new suppliers sell the one which accept a 5mm hex on one side and 6mm hex on the other (or maybe it is 4mm/5mm?).

Has anybody found an Aliexpress source for this style?  So far all I have found is from Stone:

But at $15 CAD I was thinking there might be a higher value reseller out there?

Thanks

Component Deals & Selection / Re: 3D Printed Saddles
« on: December 15, 2023, 06:09:08 AM »
Bringing this one back.

What is the current thoughts from folks who have had a few of the Ali 3D printed saddles on their bikes for a bit?  I see West Biking and they look nice, but too close to the 'brandname' models in pricing if you ask me.

What about the Ryet?  Which one do folks like?  I want a more narrow saddle (140-143) and Ryet seems to fit the bill there.  Is it actually more comfortable than some of the 'better' cheap Ali carbon models (that just have EVA foam)?

What about any of the other sub $100 models?

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Ryet wheelset?

Hey all,

These 'seem' like a good deal..

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004854246082.html?ug_edm_item_id=1005004854246082&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21CAD%21C%24%20664.48%21C%24%20478.42%21%21%21%21%21%402102fe2216666503937658454d10e0%2112000030755397508%21edm&edm_click_module=item_detail&tracelog=rowan&rowan_id1=aeug_edm_24685_1_en_US_2022-10-24&rowan_msg_id=3279biz_add_wishlist:0:0_572534807$87d61e144d224e68ace9f230cbec93f6&ck=in_edm_other

30mm external, 38mm depth.

Anybody have any thoughts, experience with these?  I would probably use them for road tires (@ 28mm) and hope they still meet 105% rule (though may not depending on the tire I guess).

I'm really I guess on the hunt for 32mm-34mm external, reasonable depth (more like 40-50mm).. I don't care that much about weight.

Cheers,

Thanks ChrisB, seems to be a nice build.  I'm actually eyeing up the RF22 road frame:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003914708942.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.4.6bd619db6U2gGw&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21CAD%21C%24%20832.85%21C%24%20641.29%21%21%21%21%21%402100bb5116650939510426284e15c0%2112000030561943056%21sh

It says it has 38C tire clearance.. that is enough for me!  From the pictures may even handle 40C.

Does anybody know if this is a similar frame to other open molds?  Anybody else make this one?    Seems Chasing Wind is a decent supplier (per ChrisB's experience).  Anybody else rolled the dice on this one?

Tim

For the Velobuild CX-002, how do they accomplish the internal routing?  I like the being able to supply my own stem/bar, but I also like the idea that I can run the lines through the front of the headset (keeping the lines out of the wind tucked under the stem).
