Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Wheeltop EDS GeX
« on: February 19, 2025, 02:35:03 PM »
Where did you buy it from for that price? I am looking for groupsets, and kinda set on the gex, and I can't seem to find a rival axs for that low anywhere, not even on ebay, etc.

https://www.cingolanibikeshop.com/cambio-sram-rival-etap-axs-d1-xplr-12v-gabbia-media-senza-batteria.html

But the lever bundle i took is not available anymore to be honest it could have be a one time sale

I don’t understand what’s the point with wheeltop gx, it comes for 600€ in EU, I just bought a sram rival axs 1x12 for 580€, same components. Yes the GX supports more gears and larger sprockets (…and I don’t care) but rival works very well out of the box, it’s reliable, waterproof and thoroughly tested. Should not wheeltop reduce prices?

just avoid this zniino flared handlebar

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006624272139.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.41.197e1802whaPjZ

it does not fit with SRAM rival levers and i guess many others, diameter is wrong or i don't know about the shape of the clamping zone. you would likely need to make it thicker (by means of a alu foil or so) to have the lever bolt have a proper grip on it. but wtf guys, we at least need the basic functionality working, then we can also die because handlebar snaps but at least levers should stay in their place!  :D

any suggestion for a good gravel, flared handlebar?

since on the rear i'm going with a rival group, i would like to understand if these cranks are ok with flattop chains as this one:

btw any other suggestion on the 3 cranks will be rewarded with a virtual beer!  :D

hi all
can you suggest a reliable/supportive AliExpress shop for the GeX? that's because it's possible to use coins and other discount to get the GeX at a convenient price rather on the official wheeltop site you pay full load of $$$.

thanks

Buy it while it's light. The more frames will break, the heavier it will become in the future.

LoL this  is what happened to your and mine fm936, now it's given for 2150 grams in size M. Mine is 2030 grams, but I remember when it was marketed it was 1850 grams. Then some of them had cracks and now it's heavy like a fat duck  ;D

this makes it aesthetically ugly and will surely weigh a few grams more.

Ouch it’s ugly to say the least! Does also L size have the same big reinforcement?

I see hambini likes ICAN/triaero  ;D

Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / Comfortable easy gravel frame
« on: October 14, 2024, 10:07:08 AM »
Hi dears
Im new to this gravel thing and I would like to try building one.
It’s plenty of frames out there , I’ve seen ican graro, cfr707 and the light carbon ones but for me they look all the same. I would like it to be easy in terms of geometry, comfortable not extreme or race type. Can you please give me some hints or directions?
Thanks for any assistance

Did SP-Cycle replace your broken frame?  It's been a few months...

Wasn't me, it's another federico I own a Carbonda 936 and so far really happy about it

14
Hey man, its been a few months.  Have they sent you your new frame yet?

Im thinking about buying this frame too.  Im happy to see new frames come already with the aluminum part replaced, but not crazy about their apparent slack on fulfilling their obligations in terms of warrany...

I would not trust buying the 861, even though it's an aluminum rocker since the failure also happens in the rear triangle upper link, indeed the 868 has a new rear triangle hopefully is bug fixed
