Hey guys, I’m planning to buy my first spd sl shoes for my road bike. Is it worth to buy from AliExpress? Can you recommend some?

Do you guys have any suggestions, tips and tricks on what to do with a bike before leaving it hanging for few months during winter?

Hey, any suggestions for autumn/winter gloves?

I’m 180cm tall and got size 56.

How many dollars did you get the frame set? Are you satisfied with its performance? Is the frame rigid?

Thank you
I ordered it with HB088 integrated handlebar. No painting. I ordered delivery from China and paid 888$(817€ after currency exchange on Revolut) for everything.
Frame(w/ small discount of 20$) - 729$
Shipping to Slovakia & taxes - 127$
Bank fee - 32$
Interestingly, the full price would be 954€(w/o small discount) if ordered delivery from Germany.

So far, I’m very happy with the purchase and the whole build. It was my first time building a bike and it was a bit more complicated than I initially thought. In the end very satisfying tho. The bike is fun to ride, very fast and stiff in my opinion. However, keep in mind that this is my first road bike, so I don’t really have another one to compare it with.

You definitely don't want a floor pump or a mini overpriced cube. An electric tire pump like the xiaomi mijia 2S is excellent, it's about the size of a powerbank but thicker, has a better gage and the battery lasts forever. There are countless options on ali it's getting hard to choose. I have a xiaomi 2S which is amazing, I don't really use my floor pump at home anymore. Supposedly the xiaomi is not the best anymore but you can't go wrong with it

I’m currently considering this Xiaomi Air Compressor 2 - https://a.aliexpress.com/_EysRcLp. If you guys know of a better alternative, please let me know.

And what about the seatpost clamp? I asked also Yishun directly but so far no answer.

EDIT: Yishun's response:
  • Seatpost clamp - 6-7Nm
  • Saddle rail clamp - 9-10Nm

Hey, I finally got all the components and found enough time to finish the build. What torque did you guys use for the saddle rail clamp(for this or similar Yishun bike)? I have Ryet carbon saddle and about 85kg(if that's important).

  • Those are trim positions to prevent chain rub on the front derailleur when in crosschained gear combos. See https://www.youtube. com/watch?v=CR8jyNgoS0U for a good little visualization (remove the space in the URL - youtube links are really weird on this forum.)
  • The chain getting stuck between the front derailleur and the chainring is how shifts happen - the chain is forced into the big chainring which picks it up and deposits it onto the teeth. Of course, this only happens when pedaling - nothing will happen if the crank isn't rotating.
The thing is that when I try to shift up(while pedaling) the chain gets pinched and it blocks the movement of the pedals.

Hi, I'm currently building a new bike with this groupset and I have two questions.
  • The front derailleur seems to have 4 speeds instead of 2(I'm new to bikes so please let me know if I'm just stupid and this is normal) - i.e. it clicks 3 times when shifting up and 3 times when shifting down and I'm not sure if I did something wrong with the setup. Shouldn't it be just 1 click down and 1 click up?
  • When I try to shift front derailleur to the big chainring, the chain get's stuck in between derailleur cage and chainring - see the pictures in attachment(not sure if it's clearly visible). I haven't lube the chain yet - can that cause it or something else is wrong?

I wanted to double check guys - would you recommend anti-seize for a thru axle thread and grease for middle of a thru axle?

Hey guys, I just internally routed all the cables. When I steer to the left or right in the air, the fork swiftly moves back to center/natural position on its own. Is this connected to me doing something wrong or is it common?

The mechanic suggested to use grease(silicone or regular) and said that almost any type of grease would be better(not carbone paste or similar) than nothing at all for bottom bracket cups in this case.
