A friend of mine is looking into getting himself a velomobile.
Couldn't find any results on reddit / alibaba. Does anyone know of d2c chinese site or factory that I could connect with to get one made?

Those bars look very interesting. Do they flex under load?
Can you share the link to those?

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Best TPU tube brand
« on: November 19, 2024, 01:42:01 AM »
Had ordered ofbondage 85v with gold valve, as my first tpu tube.
It started it leak due to bad interface with the valve :(. Had used it for less than 200Ks.

Has anyone successfully repaired a tube with leaky valve? ( the seam at the valve insert isn't done well thus bottom of valve leaks air in high pressure or upon bending the valve )
Worst case, I know have a sacrificial tube for puncture repairs.

Currently on offbondage regular black/silver values, hoping these last better.

What is the next best sale after 11.11 (i.e after November)? I don't have enough things to purchase right now, but would consider it over waiting a whole year.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Chinese cycling clothes

Sort of a newbie in clothing, so take my words with a grain of salt.

Got the ykyw fleece, this is my 3 item from them. My first jersey from them is very nice but is atleast 1 size big cause I ordered that by looking a L/XL type sizing instead of measurements. I know better now.
This fleece is super duper nice, bit more expensive compared to others, but it\s extremely fitting and the correct length. Just how I like it. It helped me ride in cold dutch days and was my only layer in rain and wind. It held up well and it cleaned up just fine after the rain.

Have another bibs from ykyw, both have same chammy , this is thinner/finer material like pas bibs I think. I like it. It was fine for my 6 hr ride.

I really needed this to be a super fitting jersey and it delivered. I really like it. Can't say how it compares with the real maap, but I like it better than my ykyw summer jersey ( that is also loose on me ). I would really like to get a few more of these but without maap/pas branding. If anyone know if this factory also produces their own label or no-label, I would really be interested in that.

Component Deals & Selection / Winspace UNAAS
« on: September 15, 2024, 10:35:53 PM »
Not sure if it already has been linked somewhere on this forum. Came across it [here]( )
Has winspace learned something after wanting to be a premium Chinese brand and recognizes a need to come back to normal-ish prices. Or has raw cost gone down enough for them it sell it at this price  :o ???

Sorry for the off topic thread. I will delete the post, or post it another section, if it isn't valid here.

How do super cheap carbon manufacturers like RXL, work and survive? They have high SKU, low price( and quality too sometimes ) while selling very niche products which don't seem to have a scale where do would be making big cash. Are the companies like a public RnD section of bigger workshops?

Even some of the better brands, Toseek, selling ~1000 bars ( rough estimate from sold numbers on ali search for road handlebars ) doesn't seem like it might be enough. Across multiple product lines it might be 5-10x that order. Is taobao where the real selling happens, where the real numbers are visible and thus aliexpress numbers seem low.

Or Is this just a function of competition in xiamen carbon scene and factories just work with lower margins?

( I could be that I'm missing on how big their internal china market might be, if anyone has any reading material for this; please share  :P )

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Tavelo Aero Frame
« on: April 03, 2024, 11:28:29 AM »
I am way beyond the point of gratuitous consumerism and hoarding bikes. But I really want one.

My current Tavelo Attack is fantastic especially with a great set of wheels. It's light and very responsive. The only thing holding it back from being perfect given the price, is I would love a bit more reach. The geometry is more of an all-arounder than aero.

The new Tavelo Arow frame solves both the reach and stack issues for me. And the design means I could probably theoretically dump both my Attack and Propel frames. I think this new frame will be more popular than even the new Winspace Agile.

Being nearly half the price of your propel and giant issues ;), propel might turn into a regret after this.

Heard about it on Chris Miller's pod. Looks the same as propel with a mini sniffer headtube.
Haven't seen all the colors yet, but I think I'm in love. If only get it in India was easy.

Tavelo's new bike. It looks the same as Propel.

Toggle Mobile view in the browser, that always works for me.

Insect Element -> Responsive design Mode ( top right corner of browser debugger ) -> choose mobile layout of choice -> refresh if required.

Component Deals & Selection / Aliexpress insoles?
« on: March 06, 2024, 12:08:53 PM »
Has anyone tried insoles for high arch support?

Something like these g8 knockoffs ( they don't come in my size   >:( )
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005790948377.html

Asking $120 for insoles ( looking at you g8s ), seems crazy.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Fake eeBrakes G4

You mean on the centering screw or the main bolt that goes through the frame? I could have on the centering screw but the idea of putting loctite on a screw that's supposed to be adjustable sounds kinda wrong.

In any case, these calipers have bigger issues than that particular screw. The tolerance is just too big on almost every moving part. Sloppy and wiggly. I have read some people are happy with it so may be my particular set is lemon.

The main bolt.
I mostly asked it as question, being a total newbie bike mechanic. :-[

Could some loctite on the brake bolt not help you here?
