Maintenance, Mechanics, & Tools / Re: Carbon rail saddle torque wrench

I use this one and like it a lot. There's clones on Ali with different ranges (Enlee "bike torque wrench" or somesuch)
https://www.amazon.com/BIKE-HAND-YC-637-BITS-Measurement/dp/B07MVLVGJ5

Mine seems to be precise enough when measured with another wrench.

edit: my bad. 6nm usually.

Also elita one. I have 5 or so in use, none has had any problems, the oldest one is slightly torn up but still going. insane value. I don't trust the 3d printed ones not to eat through my pants.

Lexon seems to be a pretty good brand, but that seatpost scares me! One little ol' crack and you'll have a carbon spear through your nether regions. At least, that's what my brain thinks when it sees those tiny chinese carbon spars pointing up towards where you store the nether regions.

It feels absolutely fine for road use, I'm not DHing on it of course. should have waited a year for the Elita One take on it, looks a bit better. The Ergon / Canyon clone seems to be the most flexy tho.

Did anyone order and test one of these Lexon SP-LE18 seatposts?
I bought this one:
https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006075227043.html
On one of the pictures it says "Compatible with 7x7mm rails, 7x9mm carbon rails (adapter included)."
However no adapter came with it, wondering if it takes 7x7 and 7x9 with the same clamp or if my shipment was missing the adapter?

am running a 7x9 rail saddle on this post, did not get an adapter, it just fit.

can someone recommend me a cheap usable bearing press for hubs? should I get a puller too or just go taptaptap?

thanks tho I'm in Europe. Luckily I found a source for the genuine V2 Avids near me, will shell out for those I think.

The JTek Shiftmade Zero is currently in production too, for 30€.

Has anyone perchaince ever seen a clone of the Avid Rollamajig?

if you are inclined to do so, exercising your foot can actually help with that. most people would benefit exercises for long and short extensors of the foot, also tibialis posterior. might be worth checking with a qualified therapist. also if you opt for insoles, they should be fitted by someone who actually looks at your gait, worst case random insoles can cause additional problems.

so I tried it out. there's noticeable flex, but less than on the ergon clone. if you actually need the suspension for the back, go with that one. if it's just to take the edge of, you can go with the lexon.

It is done in Europe, vin numbers on bikes are mandatory where I live.
Bikes still get stolen left and right

Only real benefit is that if you report bike stolen, they can check if it is found somewhere.
And if they catch thief red handed, there is evidence. Rarely happens.

actually police stopped offering these codings in my country cause they're ineffective.

As the title says, I‘m looking for a carbon seatpost with some suspension function or particularly high flex for my gravel bike. Had one of those split-in-half types a couple of years ago, but wasn‘t happy with it as it kept slipping no matter the carbon paste and getting the seat angle correct was an utter pain in the back.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Same here, I like the flex on that ergon copy but the slipping is quite annoying. Also the clamp won't take oval rails. Had to sand it down too, tolerances were rather slippy.

Ordered that one, will report.
