Hey!

I have a vb 268, and I am currently in the market for an endurance gravel frame. The main use would be bike packing, and commuting

For now, I am looking for a ~$500 frame with fork mounts, rack attachment , 45mm tires, and mechanical 1x11. Considering Tantan GR201, GR047 from surprised store, Spcycle G069, Speeder SC-G54D.
Having custom painting is a bonus.

Did I miss any?
Thanks

Well, for me, 40cm matches my shoulder width, so when I'm descending at 60+ km/h, having 42cm bars at the drops still gives me more stability and control compared to being on the drops with 36cm bars, and I'm not catching much more wind

Also, I forgot to mention sprints in my first message, my bad

I've noticed more demand for narrower integrated handlebars, but for me I find the 36/42 option from BMC to be the sweet spot. It would be great if Peter or another manufacturer could offer quality narrow handlebars with some flare for descents at an affordable price.

bonus point for integrated computer mount

This is probably my main point of criticism with this frame (worse than the Mavic speed release). Single bolt saddle clamps are the absolute worst. I've added carbon paste for increased friction and tightened the bolt as much as I dare, and the problem is for now solved - until I hit a small pothole or something.

Ok thanks I'll try your strat, and report

about the mavic speed release, I bough one extra Real mavic speed release (with the torque lever thing) to get an extra one , and they are so much better than the normal one.
Its a bit sad that velobuild went for those speed release if they don't provide the "real" one, but I understand it's a money reason

Anyone has a problem with saddle tilt? Sometimes after coming back from out of the saddle, saddle can tilt a bit If I don't land perfectly in the middle.
Is this normal? Any fix?
I'm using carbon rails with 9x9, but it sits really nice, 12nm

I have wheels from Peter on the forum (xmcarbonspeed), with 50mm deep and 33mm wide (that is actually 34 at widest part.
With my gp 5000 s 30mm, they come at around 33mm.
Base price of the wheels was around 450$, with ratchet hub, 1420 spokes and my custom logo. Peter was really helpful. Production and Delivery took about a month
They feel really nice to ride with, and so far got 0 problems.
One note is that freehub is loud, but a bit of grease reduce it to a pleasant level. I can send pics if you need

Okay so as promised, pic of wheels with also a short review.
I bought the wheels because of Serge's propaganda
I haven't tried them yet bc I'm still missing some parts (aliexpress in france sucks)

Wheels are carbon speed own hub, looks like every other ratchet hub, 1420 pillar spokes, and 50x33 rim

weight is 1371g. Note that rim tape and valves are not included.
GP 5K S TR 30 are 33mm wide, so they fit perfectly, and follow the rim nicely.

Hub is really loud, but I feel like there is also no grease, so I bought dt swiss ratchet grease to try.

Decals cost 30 euros, thanks to a price reduction from Peter.

Bought them 23/08, arrived  27/09.

Buying experience was really nice, peter was really helpful, and gave me advices on what to buy. He also made the decals himself based on a bad photoshop that I did.

I will make another review once I've done around 200km with them

I'm intereset in the 33mm wide rims.

Does anybody know how a 30mm GP5000 will sit with these 26mm inner width rims? Will it be around 33mm?

I just received my wheels, and put gp 5000 s tr 30 on them, and they sit really in line with the rim.
I can provide measurements and pic tonight(~8h)

Thanks Lumenir,
I was hoping to deal with them and get a set of lightweight 40mm carbon spoked wheels for my Tarmac SL6.
The lack of response at this stage means ill probably go elsewhere.

There's a great deal on the Elite Edge wheels on Aliexpress, so I might just go for those and maybe upgrade the spokes to carbon myself at some point.

Any specific reasons you want carbon spokes?Weight? Stiffness? I'm just curious

You won't receive your wheels until quite a while, so may be waiting for a week for an answer using their website can be a good idea if you really want carbon spokes.

Wait.. So it's cheaper to buy it with Shimano 105 12s and wheels, than getting just the frame set?

From what I understood, the version with 105 have "regular" version of the frameset, and not the plume version

Has anyone had contact from Leon recently?
Im looking for a new set of wheels and have messaged him on here and emailed the company but have had no reply.
I sent an email 2 weeks ago directly on Leon email, no response,
Then I used their website to ask a question from the contact page, and got an answer 3 days later by Cassie
I'm still debating if I should buy from Yuan an or from XM carbon speed
