A question about the seat post.
There are new regulations from the DTU and the “sword” as it is now on the seatpost and as it is also on Canyon will probably be prohibited.
Is there another way to attach water bottles to the seat post? Is there perhaps a cavity like on the Avenger frame here?

If, and it is a big if, that DTU sanctioned races don’t let you use the saddle mounted bottle cage, just get a saddle mounted system instead.

Doneeee. Took longer than expected as I fiddled a lot with the cockpit. Very happy overall but the list of wanted/unnecessary updates is long

Love the paintjob and the cockpit looks super slick. Have you done something to increase the reach? Those bars look alot further forward than they did with the standard VB plate that the extension towers bolt in to.

I tried making my own extension plates with 5mm thick Alu bar and drilling holes in them for where I want but they came out hella flimsy and would definitely snap under real world conditions. I'm trying everything but spending £90 on the FastTT reach extender brackets looks like its going to be required.

Yeah they look good and I like that you can have your blips mounted on them. How much did you pay for them? There are not too many vendors selling them in Europe...
The cheaper option would be to go full mechanical disc brakes. Not too sure about this right now. Mabye I should just get the RideRever levers

I got mine for £170.99 on eBay (with a discount code) from a bike shop who also sell on there. You can actually pick them up there now for even less than that! (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335035938661?var=544262923126)

Haven't travelled internationally with the TT bike yet but will be in May. Plan is to put disc brake pad spacers in for the flight, maybe even turn the levers 90deg inwards.

I’m not familiar with SRAM and was leaning towards shimano as I already have a shimano crank but I’m assuming it’s still compatible.

Most of my races are flat and the 1x would do but I’m doing Marbella in November and heard it’s hilly so would need 2 chainrings.

I will look into the SRAM route. Any recommended shops or websites for SRAM?

If you are going SRAM with the Shimano crankset, be wary that if your double chainring is > ratio than 54 big ring you will need the E1 SRAM Red Front Mech as it has an extra mount hole so it can be mounted higher to accommodate larger chainrings. (not sure if these Stone / PassQuest mech adjust wedges would work)

I am thinking of the same in the future
I would try these- https://www.riderever.com/product/5/17/28
paired with Sram rival axs and blips.
still on fence about frame as i try and do UCI nationals and gran fondo TTs - unless i can get one that is very close to original and slap a UCI sticker on it!

I’m running these RideRever hydraulics on my Velobuild VB-TT. They’re good, haven’t used the SRAM Hydro’s to compare to. But once upon a time these RiderRevers came stock on Cervelo TT bikes.

Could someone please post the measurement between the two basebar towers? Center screw to center screw.

Will get you some measurements. I am tempted to hack off the last few rows of holes as they're unused and unnecessary weight. Rather annoyingly the towers are a bit too close together / extensions don't have holes close enough to get my required width to be able to have the bolts mount directly into my d2z spacers.

(okay, one thing: I'd like the BTA to be horizontal to the toptube and not with the angle of the wedge --> given that you like DIY, I think that's an easy one for you :) )

I agree it would look a heck of a lot more satisfying if it was parallel to top tube, however I like an angle to it so when I’ve got race nutrition in the BTA bottle it won’t leak out the bottle as easy.

You should see some of the other shit house things I’ve done after seeing the arms race the pro triathlon peloton has done with bottles. Pic below is the more tame set ups I did.

I also asked in the other thread about the frame/bike, but will ask here as well if you have widths for the trispoke (inner, outer, max)? :)

Also, is there a direction of the spokes? It looks like they're oriented the wrong way, but hard to tell for sure on the picture.

Didn’t take any measurements, was really bothered by dims. I’m running S TR’s in 28 mm and they have a nice profile w/ wheel.

Well it’s a disc brake wheel so can only be used in 1 direction so it will always be how you see it

That looks great!

Are those the Winow extensions? What do you think of them?

Yeah these are the first release of the Winow extensions paired with a drag 2 zero 15 deg spacer. Generally pretty happy with the extensions. Still yet to sort a garmin mount as I don’t fancy paying the £25 for the winow ones / I like DIYing it.

Following on from previous message, this is how they look on the TT rig.

All parts have finally arrived and got the rig set up. This is what it looks like pretty much in race set up (1st race is IM Lanza so front mech needed, but will be removed for flatter races).

Made a DIY BTA bottle cage plate from an AliEx carbon plate and a 3 slot bottle age adaptor common in MTBing.

The Trek Speedconcept Gen 3 (disc brake) specific downtube bottle doesnt work on this frame as it comes, however I'll find a way to mod the that bottle cage to fit. That or use the Orbea Ordu OMX or Cervelo downtube bottle.

Disc wheel seems pretty decent quality, no dodgy bits of carbon sticking out or rough edges. Not ridden it yet to test ride feel etc. Both wheels will be getting road tested this weekend.
Rather interestingly, Evolve Aero (formerly Revolver) have just released a new superlight disc wheel dubbed the Helikon (https://www.evolveaero.com/shop/disc-brake-wheels/helikon-disc-wheel/).
This looks identical to the Acesprint disc i received. My disc came out at 1017g, with a standard hub. Evolve disc; 950g+/- 30g with a DT Swiss hub, make of that what you will...

Best pic I have of it at the moment. Will post pic of bike with it on when I get round to taking it. GP5000 S TR installed very easy on both Tri Spoke and Disc wheel.

You can use my file if you want to. I've used printed ones aswell without issues, to find my correct height. Once I'm done with fitting, I'll replace them though..

I only made 30mm versions, but you can strech them in your slicer obviously.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6879499

What material are you printing them in? I would v.concerned if plastic or similar given that these go in the riser stack. You can pick spare spacers on AliEx for a few quid.

if you already say that it feels short I might need to look for a different frame...

I think I just like a really stretched out position, came from an XL Speed Concept really stretched out.

I will be getting some reach extenders like these (https://fasttt.bike/product/forward-reach-extender-bracket/) to really dial in my position. Still much cheaper than getting a branded frame with longer reach. I also just like tinkering really
