Re: Suggestions to bring a build under $2k - ICAN P9 Frame
So i agree that you started a little high with the frame but what a lot of guys on this forum are unwilling to try that i have tried and know people to have tried is buy all parts from aliexpress.  Most people on this forum stop on the frame.... they think that that is the only corner worth cutting because of the stigma of fox and rock shox.  I do think that such a build is still possible but you will have to do a ton of research.  There is a company on aliexpress that sells shocks called Himalo and having worked in a bike shop for many years and taken apart many shocks in my day cannot tell you a single difference between Himalo and other name brand shocks.  It wouldnt surprise me if they are the same thing.  I have ran them for a little over six months and they are incredible. for 180 USD  you can buy himalo shocks at 100 to 200 mil travel and they are incredible. that would save you a ton of money.

They could help themselves by improving their names, "himalo", just how low, "Uding". your face when this fork fails? Superficial I know but just being honest.

Looks like the supplier might be Xiamen Carbon speed, based on the product description.

Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame This is because of the steep STA. If you sit on the Bike the Bike feels very compact, but in the downhill position you have enough space/distance...

Look at this very aggressive Privateer 161 with 80° STA. The Bike is a massive bike but has a short TT because of the step STA.

Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame
No, that's not right. A steep effective seat tube angle does not necessitate a shorter effective top tube. The gold standard trail bike is the Ibis Ripmo, eSTA 77 degrees,  eTT 632mm for a large. It's literally the most awarded trail bike out currently.

A shorter eTT is a design choice and there's nothing wrong with that.

The Ripmo in large has a 76 STA...

Re: Affordable forks with 36mm stanchions I'd get the new SR Suntour Durolux EQ over this any day, it's pretty much a top of the line fork for just a little more then this with discounts.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts Was just over at Ican Bikes looking at their S24/FM909 and see that they have a new 2021 frame S3 which looks like the front of the FM936 with the rear of the FM1001... geo chart is identical to FM936 and shock travel of 100mm with 165*40 shock - weighs slightly more due to chainstay pivots (true 4-bar Horst link) and beefed up seat stays due to not being flex stays. Available as a complete bike (with carbon wheels) as well as bare frame.
