Re: Gravel Build help, please Another option as I have done on my Titanium Gravel bike project documented here:
http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,3555.0.html

Combine:
- Mechanical 105 shifters
- GRX 1x derailleur with Garbaruk cage (You can find a copy on Ali) allowing 11-50 cassettes to be used
- Juintech F-1 / Performing well enough for any application including downhill

Especially coming from the Shimano world this might be a solution that suits you and saves some money.

Re: Onirii carbon cranks
Any feedback on the Racework crankset? Looks like a budget way to drop almost 500g off my bike

The crank looks good so far...
I installed it on my 1x Gravelbike but had no chance to do some longer rides so no longterm experience yet.

Yeah they look, spin and feel great when pedaling. Just be aware it's a 24mm alloy spindle (versus SRAM alloy 30mm) and that the non-drive side crank arm is susceptible to damage if not torqued properly. On the plus side, Shimano left crank arms fit and come in handy if you're using a power meter or want a sturdier left crank arm. The difference in weight between the Racework and Shimano (based on 105/Ultegra) is 50g.

Re: Custom Waltly Titanium 29er
Sorry if this has been asked but i was not able to find it.   what does a basic Ti frame from Waltly cost?  i know this is a loaded question as there is a lot of customizing that can be done but just a run of the mill gravel frame or road frame?  I would really like to go this route but i kind of want to have a ball park before i get going.  Thank you in advance.

The road frame that I have on order (which is almost finished - they are doing logos and then it's going to be done!) cost me 8100 Chinese Yuan, or about US$1200 including Chinese domestic shipping and a carbon fork.

Re: Carbon spokes or CX Ray?
Well, as title suggests, I'm right now between two wheelset, carbon spoke wheelset but with rim (nipple) holes vs standard Saphim CX Ray but without rim holes, so which one do you think should be stiffer and more responsive?

Carbon spokes will be much stiffer. And presumably, responsive.
My wheels use sapim cx ray, because i'm 80kg, i like comfort, and i'm the limiting factor, not my gear.
Bear in mind that carbon spokes are much more likely to break, changing them may be an adventure, and so on.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
For prescription glasses, I got the kapvoe with prescription and photochromic lense. Works like a charm. Only the prescription insert could be a bit bigger.

Did you oder the prescription also at the kapvoe store? Are you happy with it?

I got a kapvoe  at a choice offer recently and I am very happy about the photochromic effect.. I was thinking on using them with the clip to get rid of my contact lenses.
