Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame

Prepared to be disappointed  ;D

I run a 140mm -12 stem on my Allez Sprint, paired with a set of carbon bars from Prime Bike Components (76mm reach).

The problem with running the FSA no69 headset system in this particular build is I can't get my overall stack height low enough, and I don't have a spare 140 stem. Only a 130mm -17. Thankfully I bought a spare set of Prime bars before they stopped shipping to the USA.

Currently my bar selection is an integrated cockpit I had from a pervious TanTan build. 120mm stem, 84mm reach, -10 angle. Brands grossly mis-measure the stem length on their integrated cockpits. From the compression cap bolt to the center point on the top, rather than to the imaginary stem faceplate. Essentially the stem on a 120mm integrated cockpit is more like the equivalent of a 130/135mm length traditional stem.

So with a bar reach of 84mm, an effectively 135mm length stem, and the fact I don't really need spacers going this route, the integrated cockpit will get me much closer to mimicking my Allez Sprint than a separate 140mm stem/bar FSA 69 combo.

I got another 140 -6 Zipp for you, but it isn't the prettiest ;)

I really want to keep the bars/stem there own thing, exactly for the reasons you mentioned! Can we at least get a mock up with that setup!? For some reason this is very important to me lol

As someone who currently runs a 140 stem on his setup and wants to see that fsa 69 headset on this frame, get to work! i need to see if it looks good or not ;)

Ha, googling this again as I need one still, I reached out to superteam and after 8 days they refunded me my $50 on paypal. Still waiting for a reply from them, but does anyone else have a lead on where to get one of these?

I keep swapping between the two wheels I have and it is getting tiring!

interesting, i have a RYET one (not the one picture) and i haven't noticed any issues with wear.

5
I ended up buying these and they have been rock solid, used for gravel races with 45mm tires, on the road with 35mm slicks, straight and true.

6
Not that I'm in the market for a gravel frame as I just built one up, are you saying its too race oriented geometry wise? I've been on the hunt for a gravel race bike that clears 50s.

7
Sorry, this is for a gravel bike!

Looking to. build something this yeaer, I currently have a 24 internal, 31 external, and hoping to get something at least that wide.

Any leads? Hard to search for this on the aliexpress machine...

d on that being a rim brake bike. Feel like an idiot right now.

i feel like an idiot trying to putting $1000 groupset on a bike from 2004 lol

The cheapest AXS setup is either getting Rival levers on sale (target <$300 for left and right + brakes) or the Apex AXS exchange lever ($107-$112 list price) + Apex / S300 brake calipers ($39.99/ ea list) and brake bolts ($5.59 / set list) + Flat mount adapter ($19.99 ea) + a Rival Axs 36 / XPLR RD (seem to be plenty of new ones sub $200) + Battery set. Should be really close to $600 for all the hoses + shifty bits. Might be less.

I need to get the force rim brake shifters, ($500) plus you leave out the crankset since I can't use the 11 speed I already have

If I went this route I would only need the 4 pieces and I can keep my 11 speed cassette/crankset

11
Man I'd love to put this on my 2004 CAAD4 just to be that guy. I use this bike in crits so I don't want to drop 1000 on shifty bits, but $600... maybe

What about the Ryet?  Which one do folks like?  I want a more narrow saddle (140-143) and Ryet seems to fit the bill there.  Is it actually more comfortable than some of the 'better' cheap Ali carbon models (that just have EVA foam)?

I bought 3 of the Ryet ones a couple days ago, hoping they work out! The reviews were outstanding...

As an EU customer I used it two times. No problems. It takes a bit, and sellers will try to find a way that you cancel the process. But if you stick to the prices it will work at the end.

Thanks Easyfunk; but shipping is on you correct?

Best $69 I’ve spent from Ali Express.

Just wanted to say you are KILLING it with the reviews! Nero show constantly mentions you!

Have you ever had to use the returns at all? 15 day free return, but I imagine you pay for shipping back?

Can you link to the one you bought? See some with bad reviews and I'm pretty sold on the one I linked, but always like buying from Amazon first :)
