Hopefully it goes smoothly. I just sent her a bunch of pictures with measurements. It seems like they aren't believing me

Good news is the fork decals arrived!

My favorite would have to be the Ican P8, which I just finished building.  (although I have yet to take in on the trails) Fairly modern geometry compared to other chiners.

It will be getting one eventually.  Still not completely finished with it. I'm also waiting on new fork decals.

Yes I did, it stopped the twisting but it was still moving front and back.

29+ & 27+ / Ican P8 All Mountain Build/ Question for other Ican owners
« on: December 01, 2017, 09:24:29 AM »
I finally almost have my build completed,  took it out for it's maiden voyage,  but I quickly ran into a problem. The seatpost would not get tight enough. It would twist, make all kinds of creaky noises and slowly slide downwards. I applied some carbon paste hoping that would be the cure, but nope. Upon further inspection I discovered the seatpost tube is not uniformly sized all the way down. Near the top where the clamp goes is perfect, but further down it appears to get larger.  So when the seatpost clamp is tight, the seatpost can still rock back and forth around 2mm (estimating), pivoting where the clamp tightens.

I emailed Linda at Ican bikes and told her pretty much but I just wrote above, along with detailed pics showing the measurements of my seatpost, and she told me this:
"The seatpost you need to use sizes 30.9mm . and the clamp 34.9"

Love your build. I plan on building the P8 very soon, then running an adjustable headset if I feel it needs to be more slack.

Cracking bike mate. I really want the P8 frame, but also like the P9. Can't decide which I want to go for but leaning towards P8 for the uphill sections of our trails up here. How were Ican to deal with, and how long from when you paid till delivery? And what was the total spend on that bike with Eagle set up? Cheers Tony

☝️☝️What he said! Exactly same predicament I am in.

29+ & 27+ / 29" tires on ICAN P8 frame
« on: September 21, 2017, 09:00:56 PM »
Hello, can anyone with the P8 tell me what is the widest 29" tire that will fit?
ICAN told me is is 2.1", but I know the manufacturers are conservative often times.

Got my choices narrowed down to this frame, but this could be the deciding factor. Thanks!

Do you know what the widest 29" tire this frame will fit? ICAN told me 29x2.1?
I'm trying to decide between this frame and the p9 to move all the parts from my 29er hardtail to. It has newer MAxxis 29x2.35 now

Awesome! I'm trying to decide on which full suspension frame to build, but I'm thinking this is the one.
What's the travel on the fork?

Awesome! Thanks for all of the info. I will start messaging some of the manufacturersand asking questions. Any suggestions on which would be the best frame for an all mountain build?

29er / Deciding on a Frame
« on: August 07, 2017, 12:04:20 PM »
I've been reading through this and other forums for a while now, doing research and trying to decide on a frame. But it's getting overwhelming, so I'm going to ask for some help. Lol Right now I'm riding a Niner One9rdo with xx1 drivetrain, Sram Guide Rs brakes, DT Swiss wheels and hubs. A few weeks ago I rode by buddy's Pivot Mach 6 and almost immediately decided that I need a full suspension bike. So I am looking for a frame that I can build into a Trail/All mountain rig, while using the most parts from my Niner as possible. Aside from a new/longer fork and rear shock obviously. I've been looking at the M06, Fm356, Fm058.

One problem I see is that my xx1 cranks are Bb30 and all of these frames seem to be either BSA or Bb92. Are there any frames I could use my  crankset with?
