Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Fork for my cheap road bike
« on: October 15, 2019, 07:28:15 AM »
You need to inspect your fork for the correct measurement, especially the steerer
is it 1", 1 1/8", or tapered 1 1/8 - 1 1/2"

Usually the forks from china have 43mm rake. Maybe different from your bike, will affect the handling a little

I have good experience with hylix fork from ebay. That's the only one I can reccomend for you base on experience

Considering building up a new bike in 2018 based on your 093 super light frame.  My current bike is based on the Felt Z standard endurance frame and weighs 6.5kg.  Love to see if I can build a bike under 6kg and see how it compares to my Felt in terms of stiffness.  I will wait 5 months or so until others have bought the 093 frame and reviewed it though.

Hi Ed, Have you purchase the 093?
I'd love to hear the ride review on it

Cheers

Yes thanks thats the first one that pops up in Google.

The shop is in the states. I'm looking to go direct through China/Taiwan/HK vendor. The "Bikehubstore" sells these at 150$ while they should go for around 50-70$ on AliExpress.

Some info from my wheelbuilder friend, a lot of taiwanese suppliers only want to sell large quantities. So, it's hard to find any new bitex or chosen hubs if you don't contact directly to the supplier. Bikehubstore is the only one I know selling bites hubs. It used to be a lot on ebay

If you want to build your own bike, I'd say the cheapest way is to buy a complete tool kit, and then buy the additional tools that you need

It's all depends on your bike as well. Example if your bike BB is pressfit, u're going to need bearing press tool. If it's threaded, you just need a BB wrench.

I personally bought a SuperB tool kit, and then I add cable cutter, masterlink wrench, BB wrench, better quality hex key and a cable cutter. Have build 2 bikes with them, and couldn't be happier..

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Chinese hubs?

I dont think they are chinese hub. Bitex, novatec, hubsmith, are Taiwanese brand

And yes, Taiwan is different with China
Most of the computer/cell phone small components are made in Taiwan. They probably assembled in China, but the components still made in Taiwan
