Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Trouble with CarbonSpeed warranty?
« on: June 21, 2018, 09:37:15 AM »
Hey all, I got a CS156 from Carbon Speed this spring. Built it up, and it rides great. But the other day i found a large chip out of the rear drop-out area. I emailed peter at CarbonSpeed about it, and got the following response:

Was the frame hit by something sharp and stiff ?
From the pictures, we can not tell what happened on the dropout area, and that is only one position, right ? Anyway, you don't have to worry, that won't affect riding and frame quality.
Best Regards,
Peter

Well, it was not hit by something stiff, and it has largely been ridden on Double track with no rocks/logs etc. Also, it clearly is comprising the area around the dropout, so it will have some affect on frame quality and ride quality. I have since emailed Peter 4 times asking respectfully how to start the warranty process, but have yet to receive a response. Any ideas? Anyone else had this problem?  I purchased it because it had a decent warranty, but if they don't honor that warranty, well, that sucks.

26er & 27.5 (650b) / Routing a dropper on a 156
« on: March 22, 2018, 10:54:23 AM »
Hey all, I am thinking about a dropper on my CS156, but wondering how to route it. anyone ever had success with either a internal or external route that made sense? there are two routing holes on the bottom of the rear triangle, but I cannot make sense of what they would be used for. See pics.

your help is appreciated, you pictures of current builds with droppers are also.

26er & 27.5 (650b) / Help with a Through-Axle question
« on: February 08, 2018, 03:13:56 PM »
Hey all, i am just starting to build up my new CarbonSpeed cs-156 frame, and have run into a glitch, wondering how others have approached it. This is my first bike with a rear through axle, and I thought it would be a breeze (foreshadowing). So, the drops are not threaded, and and there appears to be a slot where you would put a threaded nut of some sort, and there is a small.hex bolt that would lock it in place. I have no idea where to get this nut or why it didn't come with a dropout. I assume it has something to do with the ability to go with different thread patterns. See pics for details, and any help is appreciated. Also, some shots of the frame... it says "Made in china" in chinese down the front of the down tube. I will pair it with a Fox 32 SC with custom stickers of the same blue and grey, and xtr wheels.
