29er / And the winner is....
« on: September 19, 2022, 09:49:15 AM »

The winner is... mwh0169!

Just email eddy@haidelibicycle.com and order your FM-M009 hardtail frame. Congrats! Hope you enjoy it.

Please do share a build thread... It's always cool to see what people choose to do with their freebies.

As a side note, the one thing I don't like about these giveaways is that everyone has to put their trust in me to conduct a fair contest and, as far as I can tell, there isn't really a good way to choose a winner that would allow you all to witness the drawing process. I thought there would be some type of app or something, but not that I could find... So, just for those that may be interested, all I did was list all of the valid entries in a spreadsheet and and go to Google's random number generator and input the amount of entries and took the first result. In the future, if anyone has any better ideas, I'm open. Thanks to all that participated!

Haideli Bikes Customer Appreciation FM-M009 Hardtail Frame Giveaway!

It's been a while since we've done a giveaway here, so I'm excited to announce that Eddy and Haideli Bikes have volunteered to sponsor a giveaway to show appreciation for the support the company has received from this community. That means one lucky Chinertown member will be getting a free new carbon hardtail frame!

The frame up for grabs is Haideli's FM-M009 carbon hardtail 29er frame! See full details on Haideli's website here: https://www.haidelibikes.com/carbon-mtb-frame/29er-thru-axle-carbon-frame-mtb.html

All you have to do to enter for a chance to win is meet the following three criteria:

1) Be an existing member of this site as of the date of this post and have at least 10 posts by the end of the contest.
2) Have an image uploaded to your Chinertown user profile.
3) Follow @chinertownforum on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chinertownforum/
(if you don't have an Instagram account or just don't want to follow, no problem, you can still enter)

That's it! Just post a reply in this thread containing the word "enter" and you will be entered into the drawing.

In 3 weeks time, this thread will be closed, and a winner will be chosen at random. That winner will then pay just the shipping fees to Eddy and the frame will be shipped out.

This thread will be closed end of day Monday, Sept 12th. Good luck to all those that enter and thanks to everyone that participates in the discussion here at Chinertown. If you aren't eligible to enter this giveaway, no worries, more to come! In the future we will also announce these on the Instagram account.

Big thanks to Eddy and Haideli Bikes for sponsoring this givewaway! If you want to get in contact with Eddy his contact email is: eddy@haidelibicycle.com and you can check out their products on their website: https://www.haidelibikes.com/

Hey all,

Just getting the Chinertown Instagram profile started, and would appreciate follows and shares.

Find us at this link: https://www.instagram.com/chinertownforum/
Or by searching for user @chinertownforum

Going to use this account as a place to aggregate pics of all of the custom builds on this site. Only have a few posted thus far, but will continue to add them. If you happen to see your build featured and you want your instagram account tagged/credited then just let me know. Also, if for some reason you don't want your pics/build featured at all on the Instagram account, then please just shoot me a message and I'll remove it. That said, I'll message each user here and alert them/ask permission to feature their build on the account.

We'll also use this as a place to announce giveaways and other promotions in the future!

Thanks for reading,
Sitar

Hasn't passed Congress yet, but if it does 30% is a pretty significant incentive to go for an ebike. It will be interesting to see the details of it and if it is limited to complete bikes or could be used for a frame puchase. The total max allowed credit is $1500 so a $5k bike would be $3500 and take maximum advantage of the credit. Pretty sweet deal.

E-Bike Frames & Builds / Dengfu E10 frame & Bafang M500 Motor
« on: January 06, 2021, 03:40:46 PM »
I've been waiting for a long time for there to be a good option in the open mold Chinese carbon E-Bike frame category and a powerful but budget E-Bike motor that will fit it and I think I've found it. Came across this guy's video on YouTube and thought I would share it here for inspiration. I think I'll use this build as a template for an E-bike build of my own sometime this year. Excited to see this space develop and grow and present even more affordable options.

As the title says, the frame is a Dengfu E10 (a bit too much travel for my needs, actually). Link to Dengfu E10: http://m.dengfubikes.com/index.php?s=/230.html
And the E-Bike motor is the Barang M500, which from what I see so far has really good user reviews. Here's the product page for the M500: https://bafang-e.com/products/motors/m-series/m500/ and the product page to the rest of Bafang's M series motors: https://bafang-e.com/products/motors/m-series/

Video of the Chinese E-Bike build:

I'll update the thread if I move forward with the frame/build. Looking forward to hearing what you all think.
