« on: July 18, 2015, 06:16:02 AM »
I have xtr race brakes on my 256SL with 160 Ashima rotors.
This is what happens to my brakepads in the back:
I measured my rotors and they are 160 mm , what can I do about this?

Component Deals & Selection / 635 mm wide handlebar not wide enough?
« on: August 02, 2014, 08:12:18 AM »
I decided to flip the stem on my 256 and when I examined the the clamping area of the 700 mm wide handlebar I noticed some pressure dents.

I have to send in the handlebar and have to get an replacement asap and I found a good priced Easton 635 mm wide Easton EC90 SL Riser Bar..

I have a 620 mm wide HB on my 26 and the 700 mm seems to be an overkill but will 635 mm to narrow for a 29er?

Component Deals & Selection / Nut of the rear axle of the IP-256
« on: July 29, 2014, 10:15:07 AM »
Can anyone tell me if the nut of the rear axle of the IP-256 is interchangable with the nut of a Shimano E-Tru axle?

I want to get one of these:  http://www.extralite.com/Products/Black%20Lock.htm  but it comes without the nut, and they say the nut of the Shimano E-Tru axle will fit.

29er / Internal cabling IP-256 , dropper
« on: July 19, 2014, 02:31:13 AM »
Should I take out the liners that came with the frame once the cables are in place?

I am doing the cable for the rear mech now and I prefer to take the liner out....

I am going for 1x10 and want to use the hole for the front mech for an internally routed dropper seatpost.
A cable actuated dropper will probably be easier to install tan a hydraulic one and the hole where the cable enters the frame must probably be enlarged a bit.

I am also wondering how to do the cable for the rear brakes, does it fit in the liner?

29er / 256 build by Jake

Yesterday I received my IP-256.
This is without the axle and I replaced the bolts for the bottleholders  and the front mech by alluminum ones.

I have a Rock Shox Reba that is almost 1800 gr with axle and remote and I am in the market for a tapered rigid carbon fork with 15 mm axle for my IP-256SL

The only one I found is this one http://www.xmiplay.com/ProductDetails1661
But this one is 720 gr according to Xmiplay together with the axle it will probably be over 800 gr.

I don't understand what the 2 metal things in the middel are for and why is there an aluminum ring at the at the contactpoint with the bottom headset?

FLYXI forks are 550 +/- 20gr, at least that is what they say on their website, but they only show QR forks , not 15 mm axle
The flyxi fork http://www.flyxii.com/products_1.asp?menuid=337&id=1281   looks much cleaner

Any tips?

I am waiting for my  IP-256SL to arrive and wonder if I can use a dropper seat post on a IP-256SL with internal cabling (not hydraulic)

It will be 1x10, no FD and hope I can use the FD cable hole  for the dropper cable and end up in the seat tube..
