PLA: I've deleted a couple of your posts. Feel free to speak your grievances, just please do it in a way without insulting people. We can do without terms like "typical shitbag, idiotic, typical internet hypocrite" etc. I realize you probably think that the forum and myself are being "fragile' but that is just the standard we try to maintain here. Thanks for understanding.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023

I'm not going to delete or moderate anything, I just want to ask you all to please try and keep it respectful. Feel free to disagree with each other but leave the name-calling out of it, we don't want that type of discourse here.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I'm glad the family is okay and you are able to push forward. I wish you the best of luck in your recovery efforts.

I have a small carbon hardtail frame for 27.5 inch wheels that I would be happy to donate to one of your daughters if we can figure out how to get it to you. I wish I had a complete bike to offer but it's just the frame at this point. Here is the build I did with it. I'm in the United States so I assume your country would try to impose some import taxes. If it helps, I will be in northern Italy (town of Cannobio) for two weeks in October and I could bring it with me.

Very kind offer.

I have some handlebars, seat post, and brakes I'd be willing to chip in. That said, I'm not sure what the cost of shipping would be from Arkansas to Slovenia. Possibly cost prohibitive.

Wow, that's pretty heavy man. I'm really sorry to hear about your current situation.

I know it sounds cliche, but at least you and your family are okay. I hope that you all can find another hobby to enjoy together or find a way to get back into biking.

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. Is it Ok then if I start a new thread on this specific "velobuild headset play issue" and if I copy/paste the complete unreadable page 4 from the old thread into the new thread?

Of course, whatever helps you guys keep the valuable info/discussions accessible.

OK, any way that I can report this to an admin to resolve this problem? There is not alot of information on this website on how to report problems.  :(

The "report to moderator" button in the bottom right of each post alerts me directly to my email... that is how I found out about this thread and I try to be as responsive as possible. Unfortunately, I don't have any idea what is causing the issue you brought up or how to fix it. As FullCarbonAlchemist pointed out it may have something to do with the forum software needing to be updated and I'm working on that. I apologize for any inconvenience and am sorry I couldn't be of more help, hopefully, these issues will be remedied with the updates.

I try to be pretty hands-off around here and not impose too many rules & restrictions, but I think I should draw the line at using the site to try to sell products that possibly violate trademark laws. No judgment... put whatever stickers/logos you want on your bike... just can't sell it here.

Hope you understand. Thanks.

He's been active on the forum and I corresponded with him via email as recently as 6 months ago but not sure of his official status as a supplier or his ability to help with your specific parts. Reach out: petercycles@foxmail.com

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Re: Re: And the winner is....
« on: September 21, 2022, 08:10:25 AM »
Hi Sitar_Ned, well done to you for organising this and being as transparent as you have been with the process. Obviously, given my vocal objection to the way the sponsor has treated people on this site re a certain frame, I didn't enter but I do have a question for you if I may.

What is to stop anyone that has seen this thread from email Eddy and saying they are mwh0169?  Would it not have been better that initial contact between the two was done through PM here?

Just a thought, and again, thanks and well done.

Well, you are correct, anyone could just email Eddy and pretend to be the winner. I didn't put all of the steps out there just for the sake of simplicity but there are steps going on in the background via PM where mwh0169's identity has been verified by me and given to Eddy.

As for your reasoning for not entering the contest, I can certainly respect that moral stance, sir. That said, this contest, or any going forward, should not be seen as a backing of the vendor by myself or the board.

Any vendor that sponsors a contest has a reputation that is entirely separate from the event and stands alone according to how they treat customers, imo. I see it more as paid advertising where the community is the beneficiary.

Also, I'm going to split this topic off into a separate thread. My logic for this is that the winner announcement thread is a paid-for promotional thread (I'm referring to the price of the frame for the giveaway). I didn't want you to feel censored so I didn't want to delete your post so I just split it off.

Hopefully, you can respect that. If you think this is faulty logic, please do voice your thoughts as I am still learning how to fairly moderate and manage a community such as this and am certainly open to input.

Thanks,
Sitar
