Has anybody else had issues running the rear hydraulic brake hose from the rear? I can get it past an obstruction in the down tube and have tried almost everything I can think of or google has. Any advice would be great, it is the last part to the build and it is making me angry.

Bike looks great. What an amazing looking build.

Thank for the great review. I am in the debating process of either a Ti Road or a Chiner. I am torn due to durability and would be interested in if you feel the bike has any softness or if it is not very stiff latterly.

Looking to build up a full rigid 29er with a relatively steep seat post angle for racing on dirt, groomed single track, and road. Any direction would be great.

Fat Bikes / Re: Durability of Carbon Fat Bike Rims- any feedback?

Just got done building up a pair of 65mm Nextie Black Eagle II, set up tubeless, with a SP Dynamo PD-8x front and DT-Swiss 350 (190x10 TA) rear, and so far so good. I use them for my single track to work at a downhill bike park with pretty rocky terrain on the descent into work from the upper ridge-line. I just run the tire pressure up a little than I normally would to protect the rims.

I guess just getting the 3k weave would be about perfect. Thanks for the insight.

Fat Bikes / Re: Looking for input on rigid chiner fatty build

I love my Fatbike and am a roadie as well. I can say, while everybody else is right that a plus bike is faster, lighter, etc. etc. etc., I never bought my fatbike expecting these. That being said, I have just recieved my new carbon chiner fatbike rims and am in the process of building them up for the Road Race on Route 66, and the wheelset will be coming in at under 2300 grams with an SP Dynamo front hub and a DT Swiss 350 rear. That is plenty light enough for me. I enjoy riding the Fat due to it absorbing much of the road vibration which makes my hands go numb after 200 or so mile days back to back to back.

As far as a build kit goes:
Brakes: Sram Guide series are great. Easy to bleed, easy on and off, and plenty of stopping power. They also are not ridiculously expensive.
Drive Train: I am changing mine from the current Sram X7/X9 to the XX01, 1x11, next month. Doing this for several reasonsons: 1. I find that having the front deraillure and extra chain ring adds too many variables and I question if my gearing is right, just getting rid of it.  2. By dropping the deraillure, chainring (and harware associated), shifter and cable, I am loosing close to a 600g. 3. It leaves one less thing to go wrong.
Wheelset: Nextie 65mm Black Eagle II with SP Dynamo front and DT Swiss 350 rear. I picked these both for reliability. I like the dynamo because it allows me to have always on lights for the road, I am able to charge batteries, and lets face it, I don't have to charge my phone when I get home. Rear DT Swiss, for cost and reliability, nothing is much better.
Frame: Currently riding a KHS 4 season 3000, however, researching some other (carbon) options. Most fat frames have about a 69 degree head tube angle and being a roadie, I like mine a bit steeper. I have seen some at 71 and will probably go with that. A steeper less laid back seat tube angle is also a look/feel I like.

My 2 cents. I hope it helps a bit.

I definitely want to try out the WCB-M-062 in a 20" the geometry looks about perfect for an xc race bike.

These look great and some amazing info. I think when I order mine, I'd just like to have it painted with the clear coat to show the carbon weave underneath. Maybe have my name on the seat stay to make it personal and feel like it is all mine.

SN - Thanks for starting this!

I am a professional (head) bike mechanic at Granby Ranch Bike Park in Granby, Colorado. I have been hearing so much from places about certain companies and their supposed superior quality, however, with my experience, the Chinese Carbon is as good, if not better than local. I have a carbon Hylix fork on my road bike which I love and just received a set of Carbon fatbike rims which I am excited to build up and beat the crap out of. I don't understand why people say "Strong, Light, Inexpensive.... Pick 2", I have found all three in Xiamen.

I am currently working towards building up a bike for this years Race on Route 66. Looking forward to hearing everybody's input and ordering more toys.
