Selling a new Sram / Truvativ Descendant cranket. The length is 165mm. It's made for GXP bottom brackets with the standard 68mm or 73mm width. This is not the GXP83 version. It should work great for smaller adults or big kids.

So Transition just released a super fun looking 29er. Long, low and slack like the rest of their bikes but the chainstay is 420mm!! The WW 062 that I have is one of the shorter ones at 430mm and it's a blast to ride. I would love to get the Vanquish but it's not in the budget at this time. I would love to see Peter or another vendor get close to it. Which I guess the CS-496 is pretty close but but it's also shorter in the top tube and reach but quite a bit.

My next build has officially begun. This time for daughter #2, the AR in GKARTA.
I ordered the frame on November 7th and hopefully it's here before Santa as he is the official delivery dude. The frame is sold from a bunch of different vendors but I bought this one from Tideace or Haideli on AliExpress. It's also sold on eBay by Tideace and Dashine bikes and on Amazon by Fasteam. I had several emails with Amy and her communication has been great and she informed me that Tideace and Haideli are the same company but Fasteam and Dashine are different vendors. So on with the build details. The frame will get the household standard of GKARTA decals with a color preference of yellow. The only thing that isn't high on the color list is the white fork. But since it was new from Amazon for $165, white it is. Unless someone has a black Reba 27.5 fork they want to trade for a Revelation RCT3.

I have thought about re-lacing the wheels to some Stan's Crest rims which would drop some weight and gain 1.5mm in inner width but I'm not sure if it's a worthy investment.

The price on these seems almost too good to be true. So I figured I would give it a shot.    The seller has sold 31 items and all the reviews are positive so hopefully I didn't loose my money. I offered $80 and the seller accepted it. $80 for a front and rear set of SLX brakes is pretty cheap. They come with non-finned resin pads but that is fine. They will most likely end up on my daughters bike anyway.

So awhile back, my wife started calling me a bike snob. Why? I think it's because I have been working on helicopters for 20+ years and I am very particular when it comes to things working properly. I don't need the best brands, heck, 2 of my bikes aren't even a brand at all. She thinks it's because I need to have the best bikes and tweak them until they are perfect and then either 1) start tweaking her bikes, 2) buy a new bike, or 3) start tweaking the same bike all over again. Who is correct is still up for discussion.

I do think that I am starting to win though. She had never expressed any burning desire to try my bikes. Well one day a few weeks ago, I convinced her to go on a women's group ride that was happening about a mile from our house. It is pretty flat but also very technical with all the rocks and roots and I mentioned that she should take the 29+ bike. Well she comes home glowing from how the ride went and how she loved the bike. So now that she has the Tallboy 3 frame and we are getting all the parts ordered, she is wanting the build to be similar to the 29+ bike. She is now starting to see how too much weight, poor shifting, and poor suspension setup can kill a bike. So maybe, just maybe, she is becoming one too....

Am I alone or is there a place where there are others like me and we can have meetings or something?

Having never used one, I decided to put one on my plus bike. I went with an AbsoluteBlack Sram direct mount 32t ring. It is paired with an XT M771 11-36 cassette. As far as negatives go, I can't find any. I went for an 8 mile first ride on the plus bike last night and I had about a 1/4 mile of grassy road left when I thought "Crap, I never payed attention to see if I like the ring or not". Which, to me, means I didn't even notice it on the trail, and that is a good thing. But once I started paying attention to it, I really started to like it. 99% of the "rigid bike bounce" is gone! And the pedal stroke does feel quite a bit smoother. Now I can't really tell if it makes my legs more or less tired but if it isn't bouncing, it must be good. And I would think that the bouncing would be some sort of efficiency loss but I really don't know.

What is every's take on these?
