I have no experience with that frame but the geo looks good. I have been dealing with Tideace / Haideli bikes for the past week or so and their communication as been excellent. Tideace and Haideli are the same company. I plan on starting a new thread after the order gets put in and everything is delivered.

Does it need to be a 15mm thru axle? Here is a great price on a 9mm QR version.

Sure. Wheel and Sprocket has been on eBay for a long time with a good history.

I have the same fork on my WW 062 singlespeed. I'm very happy with it. I didn't think I would use the lock out much but I actually use it quite a bit. It's much better than any of the cable actuated ones that I have used. Amazon.com will have some good deals on them occasionally. I got mine as an Amazon Warehouse deal for $250ish.

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Re: eBay vs AliExpress
« on: October 21, 2016, 06:14:36 AM »
I would like to try a couple of small items first but I was going to order a frame for my daughter for Christmas and I have some others interested in the same frame. So that led me to the group purchase idea if it could save some money for all of us. I have spoke with a couple of vendors on eBay and on Amazon but the best pricing seems to be coming from AliExpress.

It seems my 062 has a small crack. http://imgur.com/gallery/NZiPN   the first picture shows the first cracking i noticed. The second picture shows a small crack that i cant feel, however every 2 days it leaks out white stuff.. I asked workswell what to do.. they said ride it harder to see if it is a paint crack or a structural crack. I have since ridden it 500km standing more and mashing it as much as I can.. I really can't say if it has gotten any larger, but we will see since I have only had my frame for 1 year/1500km.. I weight 200lbs and ride 99% xc trails with no major jumps/drops..

Will keep others up to date on the process with them.

That's not good at all. Couple of questions though.
1) is the white stuff a powder or liquid?
2) what does the seat post look like?

If you have been standing more and the crack isn't growing, it could be caused by the stress that is put on the seat and seatpost which is will flex the seat tube back into the stays. Maybe try riding harder but still being seated? Like another has said, try lightly tapping around the crack with a coin. If anything is delaminating internally, you will be able to hear a difference in the sound. Try tapping other random places on the frame for a sound comparison.
Either way, good luck and hopefully Workswell takes care of it. I have the same frame so I am really hoping they do. A Workswell representative joined the forum awhile back. Here is a link to the thread they started.

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / eBay vs AliExpress
« on: October 21, 2016, 05:34:53 AM »
I've used eBay quite a bit for the past 15 years or so but I've never used AliExpress or Alibaba. I see that AliExpress has a little more options for buying multiple items and has better pricing for the carbon frames. I'm just a little hesitant as this might be a group purchase of about 6 frames with handlebars and seat posts and involve other peoples money. What should I be looking for and are there any do's or don'ts that I should be aware of?
Thanks

Welcome! I currently have the 062 and the 078 frames. Both have been great.

I agree with Carbonazza. Unfortunately, as a society, we want instant gratification. And for some reason, we like to vent about our delays on the internet. The hard part is when vendors are selling to people of different cultures, especially ours in the USA. We tend to think it is bad service when things are not done our way. When in reality, it is just a different way that we are not used to.

29er / Re: Full Suspension | horizontal or vertical shock ?
« on: October 05, 2016, 06:08:10 AM »
For some reason, I put a lot of value on a unified rear triangle. I'm not a big fan of designs that use pivots near the rear axle. I realize that those pivots don't move much but I'm still not sold on the idea. Whether the shock is horziontal or vertical, I've never really thought about that. Trek's design uses a "floating" shock which ends are attached to some sort of pivot.

...the worst case scenario is that I get completely burned...
If you pay through PayPal, there is some kind of protection against bad sellers.

Yup. I'm thinking that getting burned is pretty slim but I like to prepare myself for complete disappointment. This way, it doesn't take much to keep me happy. Reverse psychology on myself.

Funny that he will not ship to Europe - good offer !!

Karsten

That is odd. It also causes a little concern. Not so much that I didn't place a second order though.  :o  I saw that eBay had a "$15 off of $60" coupon last night so I took the bait. I got an 11 spd XT shifter for $30 and an 11 spd SLX rear derailleur for $42. The total was $72 then they $15 came off making it $57. So far I am into the seller for $137 for M7000 SLX brakes and rear derailleur and a M8000 XT shifter. I figured the worst case scenario is that I get completely burned and I'm out $137 which will suck but someone on here has to be the guinea pig.

The price on these seems almost too good to be true. So I figured I would give it a shot.  :o  The seller has sold 31 items and all the reviews are positive so hopefully I didn't loose my money. I offered $80 and the seller accepted it. $80 for a front and rear set of SLX brakes is pretty cheap. They come with non-finned resin pads but that is fine. They will most likely end up on my daughters bike anyway.

Yep, got myself one of those for my 2nd wheelset and it arrived yesterday. in retail package. shimano items are usually excluded from coupon discount.

Mine came in the other day too. 11-42 in retail packaging. I was surprised the coupon worked, that's the main reason I was sharing. I was going to go with a SRAM cassette when my existing XT one wore out but the new XD driver was going to cost more than this cassette! And with both my daughters having birthdays between now and Christmas, most of my bike spending is put on hold.

Pivot does the chainstays that way. However, the upper link is different between the Pivots and the WW frames.

Nashbar is running one of their standard 25% any item weekends. However, Shimano stuff is actually included this time. The 11-42 XT cassette, normally $87 is marked down to $70. Use the coupon on their homepage and it takes it to $52.49 with free shipping. Just thought I would share.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: What kind of BB?
« on: September 09, 2016, 08:58:49 AM »
This thread seems to be quite helpful.  However, if I can get a quick confirmation from someone regarding shimano,  If I choose BSA, I should be able to run SRAM or Shimano?  Right now my fallback is the XT groupset, but I'm really interested in SRAM and will more than likely go that route for drivetrain with XT brakes.

I also do all my own work, but these GXP BBs were not around when I left the industry.  So I just need the tool.

Each brand has its own bottom bracket but the tool should be the same. I only have one Shimano XT level BB from 5 years ago and it uses the same tool as the GXP bottom brackets. It's also the same tool used on Shimano center-lock rotors if you go that route.
