The newsletter about bike show did mention 21" version, but actual web site does not.
Thanks, so there is hope for us tall boys. Nice. I asked them directly, let's see what Monday has to offer.

@adbl: the original has also 100mm. My friend has one in large and it's fun on trails, but still  a XC race/marathon bike...

Wow, interesting find. This one looks like the best copy of the SCOTT SPARK RC 900 so far. Really nice, except:
  • Chainstays are 8mm longer than the Scott
  • No XL Version available (so nothing for me)
Otherwise it looks brillant.

I spent the last week in the Austrian Alps on a Specialized Levo 650b Fully E-Bike. This is the thing, if you're close to the mountains. Pure adventure, because you do routes that I never did on my non supported FS bike. E-Bikes let you discover steep trails that could otherwise only be done by foot. I loved it.

First HT chiner e-Bike frames exist, ICAN and Dengfu are in the process of creating Fullys.
How about we create a category for E-Bikes and collect input, like geometry, tire clearance, cable routing, BB, suspension travel etc.?

ICAN: http://www.icanbikes.com/html/MTB/E_bike_series/355.html
DENGFU: http://m.dengfubikes.com/index.php?s=/191.html

What do you think?

Any Update on this frame? I thought about maybe doing a transalp with that lightweight 29+ machine end of July, instead of my  Specialized Epic.

Can't wait for the specs. Can't wait for the frame, actually.
Short chainstays but 100mm+ rear travel would be cool. And please create an XL version from the start!

Peter says there will be an option from xmcarbonspeed in the next few months.
Oh, this sounds interesting. But probably too late for 2017 season, I guess. How specific was he about the timing? Any intel about geo or travel?
I was looking very much at the Lamere Dopamine, but it's simply too expensive if you have to ship it to Germany.

Not a real Chiner, but the Salsa Deadwood SUS is a 29+ Fully. Already being discussed here http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,1157.0.html

Good point, @Carbonazza, the anti dumping issue another good reason to only order the rims.
Your experience with carbonspeed is positive, right?

I plan to build a 29+ Chiner Hardtail. I have built kids mtbs with custom Chinese frames, but. O real. Bike yet.
Frame and fork are clear, now it's about the wheels.
I have an offer from peter (Carbonspeed) for Toray t700 50mm rims (160$/pc) or complete wheelset with novatec 711sb boost hubs and sapim spokes and nipples (500$).
Considering 20% tax, it may be reasonable to buy rims only, hubs and spokes in Germany  and have it assembled over here. Not sure.
Does anyone know other offers, or can recommend a certain combination? Weight is a factor, off course.
Thanks in advance!

[edit] I found the right place to discuss this. http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,978.0.html
Sorry for the noise

29+ & 27+ / Re: New CarbonSpeed 27.5+/29+ Frame (CS-496)

A BB92 BB takes any standard crankset (the same as BSA 68 and 73 mm), it's just that with BB92 the bearings are inside the frame when they are outside for 68/73mm BB.
I finally got it, BB92. I'll only need a pressfit BB. Very good. So the Q factor is within a standard range (3,25 tires -> wider chainstays?), no fatsize crank spindles needed?

Once you'll get into the + size you'll just stick to it, trust me. Pick whatever rims width you want but not for such a wrong reason.
Ok, you're right. It's stupid to consider options that will never happen. This bike will be a 29+, basta.
BUT: I couldn't find any 29+ carbon wheelsets with 50mm on aliexpress or alibaba other than the ICAN wheelset for 590EUR with Powerway hubs (ICAN website) or Novatec hubs (ebay), Peter as well only lists the 40mm wheelset. I'm not capable of building wheels myself. Any recommendations?

Thanks @SportingGoods and @bxcc!!

Which wheel size do you plan? 27.5 or 29?

29+. Peter recommended 40mm so I can run regular 29er tires as well as 29+.
Here's his spec:
  • Rims: HR940C 40mm width 29er rims 32/32H
  • Hubs: Novatec D711/D712 hubs for 110x15/148x12
  • Spokes: Sapim D-Light spokes
  • Sapim nipples

I'll ask him for a lightweigt 50mm version...

I am finally ready to order and start building that bike, or at least the xmcarbonspeed version of it. I would love to get recommendations on components:

  • carbon rims: 40 or 50mm? Peter recommended 40mm
  • crankset: do regular PF92 cranks fit? I have a 180mm X9 PF92 lying around here, as I'm 193cm tall, I like long cranks
  • tires: which 3.0 tires are good, price does matter ;)
  • drop seatpost: same question, price does matter ;)
Thanks!

Oh wow. Is the new "tweaked" Stache geometry already published somewhere?
I should really order the Chiner frame now, summer will be over soon.

Now that is an interesting find, looks like the first 29+ fully. I would be interested as well. It's not on alibaba, though.
