can anyone confirm that mine is a p8 because I had to make a couple small notches in the linkage so that it wouldn't bind on bottom out and my shock only has a 53mm stroke. and you guys run a 57? bought it used so I actually don't know for sure maybe cuz my eye to eye on shock is 7.75 inches?

cool another one! must be a good frame then. I can't wait to ride either summer is commi ng! so here my work in progress. stuck a 100mm fork on there I don't need 120mm. stuffed an old trek shock in there. Mr hacksaw mr angle grinder and Mr drill had and Mr tap and die all had to make appearance to squeeze it in there. but feels good so far. haven't had it out for real yet though. you guys run fill cable housing for the shifter?

so I stumbled across this when searching for a frame weight on the p8. sorry if this has already been brought up. but it looks like there is a company selling complete bikes with an almost identical frame (looks the same to me) its called a Barghest NX. there are some reviews and stuff on other websites too, which is nice.

might want to order some bb clips. they are expensive if you want them fast but cheap if you have time. I'm going to see if it can find something that works at the local hardware store today.

Why would he need BB clips on a PF30 BB? The PF30 shell holds the bearings instead of the retaining clips in a BB30 configuration.

depending on where he got it from. mine has the bb integrated into the frame and bearing press directly into the frame and need bb clips. terminology get confuseded when talking about bb. at least for me it does.

yeah it looks like a blob of ink under the clear coat. the fibres do not appear to go around it. and its extra weird because there is one on each side. I am wondering if they added a little extra reinforcement of some kind at that point? because of failures in this type of handle bar that seem to quite often from what I can tell occur there at the bend

there is some tape residue there. but this dot is well below the clearcoat which is in great shape. I had tape there to protect it from my race plate

I used the headset that came with it but couldn't get the top cap to stop binding so I just tossed it.

just got it done so far. just Shy of 19lbs large tideace m009 I believe. as l9ng as it doesn't break I'll be very happy. bb was a massive hurdle to overcome. it is just the size for standard 30mm bearing to fit in. that means no room for any sort of bb cups. I have to use the sleeve from a pf30 bb wrap it with tape so it would sit centre in the shell and then thread an m5 hole into it so I could affix it to the frame using the hole that's already there for the international routing access to keep the bearings
from being able to slide around and achieve proper preload on the crankset. then I used the inside of headset bearings to space out the crank arms to where I wanted them. took me a while.UPDATE (feeling like an idiot found out all i needed to do what get some "bb30 clips" and all my problems go away and the bike loses about 50 grams as well) .i managed to get a 38t chainring on there with a few mm to spare. should be ok I think. chainline is right at the 5th cog up from the 11t which is alright. used a spare 9 speed cassette spacer behind the cassette to push the cassette outwards which got me from the 4th cog up chainline to the 5th. 11t has just enough to still get good engagement with the spline.
I just stacked the headset spacers on top of the upper bearing. who needs a top cap anyways. works well.

I'll post more pictures of what I did with the bb area when my new shorted spindle shows up in a week or two and I have to diasemble it again.

decided to take the angel g3inder out. shaved a few mm off my hub cap got that 11t cog as close to the dropout as possible for best chain line. and had to shave the bootie off a bit on the crank arm. ain't going to get that chainline any better than that on this frame I don't think.

no I spec post came with the shifter so I just put an m5 bolt into the existing brake lever clamp hole from the opposite end. seems sturdy enough

only one problem remains. my seatpost keeps slipping and I am scared if I tighten it anymore it will brake the post. I used carbon paste but still no luck. any ideas?
