Going to build a "Full AliExpress" secondary bike
Likely going to get ican p9/evolve alpha as frame

anyways,

Any good carbon rims you guys have had good experiences with?
I am on the heavier side 210lbs kitted.I know how to build wheels but I only dealt with big brands alu rims
Looking for 30mm to 35mm internal width 28H 29 or 275+, know a couple brands like Ican/farsports/"light ride bike store" from ali. Which one have you guys had experience with and how are they?

I buy rims and wheelsets at lightbicycle.com for 7 years now.
They have rims at about $150-180/piece and much nicer lighter at $250.
Then the final price comes then from the spokes and hubs.

Nice ! Did you paint and decal the fork ?

OG EVKIN. They seem to be carbon versions of Specialized's Rib Cage holders, which are excellent. Never lost a bottle, and they allow for some side-entry.

I use the OG Evkin too, never lost a bottle either.
In my experience the Bontrager type of cages, and many others from Ali, loose bottles on cobbles or other rough pavement.

Heavier yes, but virtually indestructible !
Are all these red anodized components coming from the same manufacturer? They have all the same hue.

The more I see it the more I like it.
It is stunning, finally a bike where silver spokes looks good  8)

With my recent enduro experience... this would be a crazy bike to ride in the Alps

Carbonazza,
nice to hear that you were riding 6000 m uphill; so these bikes are good also to climb. I am waiting for haideli AM831, FM1166 was another option on my list. At the end I opted for the new AM831.
Do you lean towards FM1166 just for the positive experience you had before with Carbonda?
It is my exclusive frame shop yes.
They just stopped hardtails, so I'm trying to find a good seller/builder.
ligthbicycle is where I get the wheels.

I see you got those AliExpress speedplay pedals,How'd you find them? I had take mine off, found them an absolute nightmare to get clipped into

I tried and it didn't work for me either.
I've read the cleats need to be perfectly flat, but I didn't try again.
I look forward to his reply too.

I did participate to the Grand Rallye VTT Transverdon in France with my FM-936.
80 riders, 5 days, moving camping, 16 descents, 6000m climbing and 8000 descending.

Here's my FM-936 put on steroid for the occasion, 36mm rims, Magic Mary in front and Hans Dampf in the back( wanted Maxxis like everyone else, but didn't find in stock ).
203mm/180mm disc rotors.

The bike and myself survived!
It was clearly out of our league, but I improved day by day.
I lost one pivot screw, a zip kept the pivot in place. I should have lock threaded them all...
Broke my GPS mount at the first crash( crashed 3x ).
And bent the hanger twice and put it back straight.

So if someone doubt over the solidity of this frame, don't !

I'm afraid I will need a FM1166 for the future  ::)

Did they not update the 11-speed too? I'd prefer 11-speed over 12-speed, mainly for compatibility reasons.

That is the general message available. They learned and replaced the weak part.
To be sure ask the seller where you buy.

I'm looking forward for this mount, as it changes the game, well a little.
But when an hydro brakes group arrives this will be something.

End of the month, I'm building a 2x and will report.
So far the unmounted components look great.

...Anyone had the same experience?

Yes, I did with the original hanger.
I noticed it was pivoting around the screw, moving the bolt a little down, and preventing the axle to be screwed in.

Received new wheels today - Elite Wheels BWT Disc...

What is the offered advantage of that rim shape?

I've just received two frame boxes that were sent the 28th of June too.
Next time, try to get this one :)
