I came across this and had to share with somebody. Ridiculously crazy. Enjoy.

Fat Bikes / Re: My N019 Build, NASA themed!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing.. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the final result.

Really digging the NASA theme too. Have you considered having Peter paint the carbon rims? Maybe NASA blue. Just a thought.

I agree, but when you see them in bike form it looks like they might would be light enough:

After The Ride / Airless tires coming to cars

Thought this was interesting and I remember seeing a thread here a while back about mtn bike tires similar to these. Thought the idea sounded silly at the time, but who knows, maybe there's something to it:

Not sure if there would be any benefits for a mtn bike though? Road bike maybe.

Im really liking when I have a new component picture to post! I'm estimating that the bike will be done in november, then it will be a one year build :) Which was what I expected.

First I would grab the 256 SL but I changed my mind and now I will buy the CS-036! :)

Haha. A year long build thread. It's actually kinda cool watching the thread/build for a long length of time like that.

And yeah, the 036.. good choice, imo!

Glad you're keeping the build thread updated; really looking forward to seeing it all come together. And yeah, the saddle will look sick with those wheels.

Perhaps I missed it while skimming through your thread, but have you decided which frame you're going to get yet?

Very nice find. How much did it cost you?

Welcome back to the trail CD.

Interesting reading your thoughts on your experience demoing a fat bike. I haven't ridden one myself but the reviews are read are usually pretty favorable, but there certainly are those that found it wasn't for them. I think 27.5 plus is a really interesting size and one I want to keep an eye on for my next ride.

Yes, a thousand grams for a 19 inch frame is pretty awesome. I'm definitely wanting this frame now!

Thanks for sharing the pics and info.

Nice find and thanks for the link. Haven't read up on that frame much yet.

Actually, that's the first of seen that frame at all.. You are referring to the 078 posted at the end of the thread, right?

I agree.
Now the Canfield EPO, now that looks like a fun carbon bike. But the $1700 price tag takes some of the fun out of it.

Takes exactly all the fun out of it for me. But yes, sweet frame for sure.

You're probably better off getting a Kona Honzo or a Canfield Yelli Screamy...they are not carbon...but have the geometry you are looking for.

Geo > frame material

I think this is solid advice.

I genuinely can't imagine buying an alloy frame ever again, but if you are really wanting that "all mountain" hardtail bike then the Kona or Canfield may be your best bet. They'll be more expensive than what you're looking at now though, especially the Canfield.
