Hey cmh, do you have plans in mind for the rims? Hubs? For a current build or a new build?

Pretty sweet prize! Hope you enjoy them.

Can I have my fly board suit with a shark like dorsal fin?

Yes! You most definitely can. Great addition!  ;D

insanely fun:

This exactly. I've seen those flyboarding videos on FB before and it's definitely at the top of my bucket list now. Thing is, it's relatively new right now, so I'm sure they'll make some advancements in their gear. I don't know much about it; I wonder if the better the jet-ski you have, then the better the propulsion/lift/speed you get? Maybe they come out with some type of turbo kits for jet-skis that allow for longer/thinner/lighter hoses that connect back to the jet-ski. Also, I'm sure they will come out with lighter hoses. Hoses that have special shaped inside walls to create more power. What about special neoprene suits with wings kinda like those flying suits? Would help in air, and underwater, it seems. Maybe not lol. Basically, I'd just really like to see this take off and get a lot cooler than what it already is. And it's already pretty awesome looking.

Yes, def need lots of good pics of this frame/build.

Does anyone know exactly what the weight differences (actual, not seller estimates) are between the 057, 256, and 041??

Great decals on that rims! Are they painted or stickered?

My thoughts as well. If those are decals that you applied, good job. Look great either way.

Anyone want to weigh in on whether or not these are worth the ~$150 premium over the FM057??

Didn't realize the 057 was that much cheaper. I'd say it just depends on your budget and how much of a weight weenie you are at heart. In actuality, it's probably not worth the extra $150, but I personally would probably pay it because I think the 041 is a way cooler looking frame that's also a bit lighter. One would probably enjoy the 057 just as much as you would the 041 though, so it's basically like everything else in expensive hobbies/sports.. No, it's probably not worth it you should probably do it anyways so you don't end up with a tinge of buyer's remorse for not getting the frame you really wanted lol.

I like the idea but I'm a newb to Strava and I guess I didn't realize you couldn't do it anonymously?

Nice. What's the weight for each, Peter?

I will reattach my 3d printed chain guide.

Oh ya? What do you have access to one at work, or you've got a consumer model like the Makerbot or what? Frkn awesome that printing up our own composite part for pennies is already a reality.

And yes, very nice build and pics.

Well, if I was starting out, I'd look for opportunities to teach people about the carbon industry. Lots of questions but not many answers, really.

For example this thread: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,625.0.html  where MTB2223 has crack in the frame and glue is coming out just a little.

Here's a quote from "SportingGoods" in that thread:

Quote
That's good info... Glue for PS foam. I really care less for the crack now then for the fact that they don't allow their frames to set (at room temp or accelerated in a oven). It sounds like an expedited manufacturing process to me. Maybe w/o any consequence, maybe not. For sure I don't like it.
Changing the frame won't fix it if that's their standard process.

Most people reading that thread will have similar questions. Why is there glue coming out? Is it normal? Is it because the company was taking short cuts in the manufacturing process? Is it just the first layer and nothing to be concerned about? People are interested in the manufacturing process but are still pretty clueless about it, I think.

That's just one example of where providing valuable information could help you build trust in your brand. It doesn't happen over night and it's lots of work but building a business is always hard.

Like I said, just one example. You definitely don't have to give stuff away for free to market your business effectively. Also, have a banner graphic made to put in your signature area of your forum profile (don't think there are forum rules against this but maybe ask one of the mods). That way whenever people read your helpful responses they will then look at your brand and logo. Over time, you build trust with the community and hopefully get some sales. Standard online marketing stuff. That said, I realize it must be a challenge to market to people that speak a different language and have a different culture, since effective marketing is all about knowing your customer.

Good luck!

So it looks like the 041 will be the new popular chiner hardtail frame. Good looking frame, I really like the the split top tube area at the seat tube junction.

Hi zoe07. So you're a seller.. This is the company you represent? http://www.boostbicycle.com

I've seen quite a few sellers join the forums and make a couple of posts and drop a link to their website where they can. They have the right idea because I do believe there is opportunity for someone to come in and build a business on this forum. I actually used to market online ecommerce sites in other markets and utilizing a topic oriented forum was always part of the strategy. To summarize, you have to give before you can get as a business these days because consumers have so much to choose from on the internet. So far, I don't see anybody other than Peter doing that at all. And he does it in the form of giveaways it seems. Smart, but there are other ways that nobody is delivering on. Information is the most valuable thing.

Damn good prices, may have to jump on that. Thanks for the heads up as I have somehow missed that. I almost always know what the current best prices for XT brakes lol. Not even sure why, it's just something I keep a watch on.

Glad to hear your recovery is coming along fairly quickly.

So now in my collarbone I have eleven screws and one plate, in my leg eight screws, a plate, and a toggle.  That is a bunch of metal!

Haha... That is quite a bit of alloy to have in your body. Pretty crazy. Lucky that you have the technology available to you, I guess.
