I do still have it. Currently it's just hanging in my garage. There's a guy who repairs carbon in Minneapolis and I've been thinking about taking the rim to him for a quote. To be honest though I'm not sure if I was to buy rims again if I would go for ones without spoke holes. I laced my wheels and took them to a local shop for tensioning and truing and the work really sucked. I had to take it back in to get it done right. I think they're just more difficult to work with. Oh well though! They're doing fantastic besides me being an idiot and riding at low pressure.

I'd say role with the cheaper spokes. You may save a few grams, but I don't think the price is worth it. If the more expensive ones are bladed I think that's cool, but not needed for mountain biking. I run bladed spokes on my road bike, but don't see the point of doing it on an mountain bike.

Quite honestly these are my first set of mid to higher end tires. They go tubeless really well and I haven't had to re seal them for almost 6 months. In terms of ride I'm happy with them. I wish I had a little more grip leaning over in loose stuff, but that's pretty demanding. I'm probably going to replace them at the end of the summer. When I do I'll probably search for some feedback on here.

Here's the Transition as it stands now. I put a new saddle (Adamo Breakaway) and have a new set of bars from Aliexpress ready to be installed tonight! The wheels are actually more interesting.. They're from a really small company called C7 concepts. The founder was a cyclist and highway patrol officer before he was hit by a car and paralyzed. He went on to get into hand cycling and even has become a member of the US Paralympic cycling team! He founded this company to build hand cycles and wheels. I actually got the wheels locally from a guy on craigslist, but I emailed C7 since there wasn't to much information out there on his wheels. He told me they're made in China, but his manufacturers have given him Skype tours of the factories so he can see the QC and process. I thought it was a pretty neat company. So far the wheels have been incredible. The bike feels so much faster now.

As promised here is the geometry and image of the 098 frame. It reminds me of the Specialized Enduro. I may have been wrong on the suspension dimensions, so some further digging is needed.

I dug up this old thread. OP was running a 140mm front, but notice the rear is only 100. Not sure if this is a big deal to you or not.

It's been awhile since I updated this thread, but I feel like it's worthy now that I've installed a 140mm fork. I've only had it out on one ride so far, but I'll update this once I have a better idea of the changes it makes!

In that image that's a Roval wheel set with stock Roval hubs. I've since upgraded to a deeper dish rim with speedplay hubs. The wheels are actually half Chinese themselves, so I'll post more pictures and information soon.

Not sure what you mean..

To be honest there really isn't much out there that I'm aware of. There was the CS-098, but not many people built it and it wasn't very well known. Let me know if you're curious about it. I can post geometry and frame pics from Peter. He still can get them, they're just not on his website.

Well, going against the advice of some people and with the advice of others I decided to put the 140 on. I already had a short stem at 60mm so the bike now feels faster and more playful. I didn't notice a major difference during ascents, but downhill I felt the fork soaking up lots of bumps. I've only done one ride, but I already feel like this has changed the feel of the bike. I didn't really feel like the fork was off balance from the rear shock, but maybe that's just because the trails I rode didn't need the rear as much as the front. I'm going to give it more rides, but just in terms of dork quality, I feel a massive difference upgrading from a Fox evolution to Fox factory. The trail mode is just much much better. I'm not concerned with breaking my frame because I don't plan on turning this into a DH bike. I'll do rough stuff, but I know the bikes limits.

Peter quoted me $65 for pivot bushings FYI. I didn't think it was super cheap, so I'm going to hold out until they wear out.

So I ordered my wheels right from Peter when I bought my frame, so I'm not sure how much shipping would be. I purchased the FHR930C Wheels with DT Swiss 350 hubs. If I was to do it all again I'd actually buy the HR935C wide rims. They have a 30mm interior width vs the 25mm width I have currently. Not saying that I'm not happy with my current setup, but the extra width would really help spread the tire even more. Whatever you decide to do I recommend the DT Swiss hubs highly.

I have a UD 036 and to be honest I wish I had painted it flat black. The UD isn't bad, but it's definitely noticeable. You can see the layup of the carbon pretty easily. In my opinion it would be better painted.

I was actually able to pick one up from a guy locally for a really good deal. I figure that I can try it out and if I don't like it I can sell it for at least what I bought it for. I was digging around the old mtbr posts and I actually found one of the original 036 threads where carbon8r built his with a 140mm fork. Most people in my research either think it's awesome or don't like the idea of it. I guess I'll have to decide for myself.
