X01 is XX1 but for enduro. Same internals.
Most bike shops say it's even lighter in person.

Xt-x1,x9
SLX- gx,x7

Get the 170mm qr factor cranks. Mine fit perfect on the ns-019.
Check out r2-bikes or bike 24.

Got my full groupset off r2. Great deal on tires as well. I would buy Dillinger 4-5 studless or studded but bike 24 offers great deals on studs from Schwabe in do it your self which make for alot cheaper.

I also noticed schwalbes jumbo jims just went down in price from bike 24 to unspeakable low price.

My 2 cents

Rolling single track mostly. About 4-5 bikers going to keep the trails pretty good. We have a good local xc sking club but they are still not sharing the trail so the winter trails are a bit more limited.

I would say my only (should I) of would of been not going Dillinger 4-5s then studding my self. I think they roll Better then the minions or bud/Lou yet offer alot of the trackion due to the studs.

But I chose the minions based on price and they are new which I wanted to try.

I will probably suite it up with 4.0 jumbo jims which will drop about 600g a tire and probably just rip in the Summer..

Like 1 1/2 weeks shipping to Canada

Setup tubeless in an evening like nothing using HURRICANE tape from the hardware store with homemade goo.

Whee lset is peters new Fat Club 68mm width 35mm depth fat bike rim

Had 3 rides so for about 50KM and they felt great.

I am running the 4.8 maxxis Minions on his ns-019 frame with plenty of frame room to spare with a gx 11 speed groupset.

Bike weighs in at 26.5 pounds with pedals.

Any questions let me know..

I also use a DT swiss thru axle like the Shimano one linked. So more nicer.
I do agree about making the dropout threaded for the thru axle.

Peter by any chance could we get some pictures of the rear tire clearance. Would love to see how much room he has left over.

1'' 1/8 to 1'' 1/2 headset i think is what your talking about. Tapered. So without knowing what you mean exactly you would need the fork that works with your headset/frame.

Aliexpress sells the necos cheap if you never got one from your supplier. Or you can pay a bit more and get it local?
NECO's headset has also worked out fine for me. Needed to replace bearings after one year..Probably didn't NEED to either.

29er / 1 year with my 256
« on: June 01, 2015, 09:32:03 AM »
I've had my 256 for over a year now and would say its been a great bike. Around 3000km on it.

My build which has been modified alot since i build the bike.

Things of note

Full X0-1 groupset - with 30 tooth spiderless chain ring.
Formula R1 brakes
World cup sid xx fork
XMI play wheelset -- NSS IP-M23C
BB30 ip 256 frame
Syntace hiflex seat post.
Thunderburts liteskin tires
Ritchey Pedals

The only complaint i have and would redo is my wheelset, I feel is a bit to narrow. It goes untrue more then i would like.
And the rear brake cable rattle. The next time i want to service my rear brake im going to do the zip tie trick as i feed in the cable leaving the whips on the ties to create a spring.( I have seem the foam trick but just dont like it enough to use it)

This bike with pedals comes in at 18.5 lbs.

Unless your racing harder then Nino, a 30-34 tooth is more then enough on a 1x11 setup. He rides a 36 which is still crazy. I used a 34 on a roller trainer this winter and still felt pretty decent. Just order a spider-less 30-34 chain ring on a 1x11 setup and you will be happy.

The avg guy I ride with goes on a 28-32 cause your not going to be needing that speed on any uphills. But each to his own. good luck.
