Looks sweet! Hey Ned, do you know if they have carbon fat bike rims in the works?

I'll echo what Carbon Dude said.. DO NOT use those inserts. Use the ones that look exactly like the Shimano ones. Made that exact mistake once before and took me forever to figure out why my front brake felt so much better than my rear.

And in case you haven't already figured it out yet.. Those things can be quite the pain to get all the way in the hose.

Not sure about that tubing but as for the drop out screws, what I do is put a tiny amount of grease around the base of the bolt to prevent any potential creaking, and use 242 blue loctite on the threads. Doesn't take much.

Cool thread.

I'd be all over that seatpost if they made one. Wonder how many potential customers it'd take to get a Chindor (tired of typing out Chinese carbon vendor, and since this place seems all about innovating, thought I'd try to make my small contribution ;D) to actually manufacturer one of these posts? 100? 1000?

Hahaha... Chinese carbon vendor is now officially dubbed "chindor"

Thanks for your contribution, Izzy.

Sweet! So official, lol.. Finally some accomplishment in life! ;D

I gotta agree with most of the above sentiment. The global economy is upon us, like it or not.

Whoever's idea it was to start this forum hit the nail on the head. Great idea, and I'll be hanging around to see how it progresses. Also, the name cracks me up! Good luck!

That's a view from the rear dropouts looking toward the head tube.  This shows just how curved the seat tube is left to right.  Pictures don't do it justice.

Okay.. Perhaps I'm being dense here, but what is the purpose of the seat tube being bent from left to right like that? I understand the bend from front to back, but if I would have received that frame I would have intially thought it was defective. Of course, I know nothing of full suspension carbon frame design.

2 year warranty you say? I'd hope these guys would be good for it.

I actually didn't even notice the amount of exposed seat tube until you mentioned it. Now that you did.. kinda bothers me. May not even matter - after your ip-036 build thread, I am seriously consider going that route. Sweet bike man, congrats! Shopping around for shocks now..

Hey Sitar_Ned,

Thanks for the input. Yeah, Ive actually considered durability and the early adopter thing already.. still not sure what to make of it. I weigh probably 185lbs fully suited up.. I'm just not familiar enough with carbon to know what to look for.

^^Very informative write up!

Just like Sitar_Ned, I'm opting for the hard tail purely out of the sake of simplicity. I also like to throw on some road wheels and hit the pavement every once in a while and the hard tail is obviously better for that. Currently trying to decide between the ip057 and ip256 frames.

I will admit to being tempted by this full suspension tho! Will def be following your build thread.

Hey guys.. Great forum idea, I could see this being a great resource in the future!

Total newb here, planning to jump in head first into my own carbon build. I was wondering if one of you guys could advise me on the differences between the IP 057 and the newer IP 256 frames?
