Ah, I know what you mean. I didn't have a screw with a narrower head either. It's just a question of appearance.

And I didn't even have an additional top cap. And you don't need one. I've been riding it for 5,000 km now and have been able to adjust the headset well.

I also swapped the compression plug for a shorter one, which fitted better.

Don't forget to install the fork cone and the centering ring at the top.

Thanks, just what I thought but didn't know then!

Not sure if I would ride anything like these frame lighter than this one 788g is pretty light.
What’s the top 5 then I’m intrested

Elilee Blize XXE
Seka Spear RDC
TFSA JH-33 or 35 not too sure but 680g like the aboves.

And surely I am missing some other options.

I miswrote my first message but in this price range it's top with the TFSA so far.

Funny, I was just reviewing this thread last night prior to any new posts since May 15th. Nice to see folks still riding this frame.

My frame has been sitting in a box from when I stripped it down couple years ago. Not much resell value on the used market. But I'm always tempted to rebuild it with modern components and wider tires just to see if I still feel the same about it as I did back in 2023.

Ride quality was a bit harsh and sloppy on the rear half. Maybe it all was just in my head. My bike fit and understanding of wheel/tire has changed significantly since then.

The hammered section gets stronger, sure.

But as for stiffness (I'm having a slight deja-vu moment here), I thought conventional wisdom was that Young's modulus - for practical intends and purposes - is a constant for a given steel. And that, only if you look really really closely, you might notice a change in E with cold working (just ever so slightly), but, if anything, it would actually go down, not up. As for numbers - we're talking about differences close to measuring error. Noise basically.

(?)

Regards the data sheets it's more than noise.  ;D
And cold forging raises the stiffness due to grain boundary movements and gliding of layers..Basically a big "crash" crystallographically.. like traffic jam... nothing (atoms and layers)  can move that easy, cause everything is stuck. Well that's frankly a little bit too simple, but that's what happens.

It's been a full year since I picked up 2 LTwoo ER9 groupsets, both units are still holding up! I was tempted to upgrade to version 3, but my version 1 units are still working fine. I had a few early battery related hiccups, but that problem was remedied by using the recommended 14500 800mah 3.7v batteries and periodically cleaning the charging port with cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol. The only modifications I've done to my groupset was change out the stock jockey wheels to Ultegra wheels, which in my opinion should be the default configuration (11t upper and lower as opposed to 11t/12t).

With the V3 improvements, I would probably still choose this groupset even compared to the likes of 105 Di2 or SRAM AXS. I just like having replaceable battery flexibility, the use of any type of mineral oil brake calipers and I can run whichever cassette speeds of my liking. I know people have had varying levels of success, but my ER9 setups have survived their first year!  ;D

Looking for crank/chainring options.
I live in quite flat lands so planning to run something from 46 to 50t chainring.
I see some people struggle to run 44t chainrings, some do it 48t somehow. Could someone tell me how can I run biggest chainring on this frame? I plan on running Sram 1x mullet setup.

SRAM Wide is maxed out at 46T

Component Deals & Selection / Knockoffs of Ridenow tubes?
« Last post by amacal1 on June 05, 2025, 11:26:47 AM »
I think it's safe to say that RideNow tubes are among the most popular of all TPU tubes, not even just chiner tubes. When I go on Ali, though, they're all over the map. Different stem and valve styles. Different logos, different color combos. I know they legitimately made some changes, and I know that these companies are always changing things without any notice or documentation. That's just part of it. But, one that threw me today was that some of the boxes were different on the gravel tubes compared to the ones I bought a couple months ago. I've seen some of the different boxes before (some are clear, some are white) but now there was a third box style. There are just SO many sellers, so many different combos of stuff and prices are all over the place. Some of these just can't be legit, right? Are there chiner knock-offs of chiner knock-offs? Has anyone encountered ones they're sure weren't legit?

It's not the lightest frame in the chinese carbon market. but in this price range it's prolly top 5.

I agree and I would be curious to know the name of the producer because the frame is extremely well done, so similar to the original and super light; in this range of price, it is the lighest frame in the chinese carbon market, as far as I know.
