gravel frame for relaxed posture
« on: August 27, 2024, 01:27:03 PM »
A question from a newbie. After a decade without a bike, I want to get one again. Information about the frame geometry doesn't tell me much. When looking at reviews, I see that some frames are described as race ready. Maybe my question sounds wrong, but I'm asking for advice on choosing a frame. I'd like a bike without an aggressive fit, not for sports, but for simple weekend rides or commuting. Or maybe I am completely wrong and unaware, and the posture depends on fork stem or other components. Thank you.

Information about the frame geometry doesn't tell me much.

If that's the case and you don't want to educate yourself about that, you should go for ready bikes in shops and Simply just try them and buy the one you feel good with. That's not meant to be rude, but a honest advice. Even with having a good idea about geometry data it is not an easy thing to know how a frame will turn out as finished build.

Reviews that are telling "comfy" or "racy" are not necessarily telling you a neutral opinion. That always strongly depends on the Reviewer.

Like pedaldancer said, it sounds like throwing a leg over bike shop options will be most fruitful. You will likely settle on a an endurance geometry road bike or even a hybrid bike notable for their more upright geo.
