Don't really know where to put this but...

I've been exploring this nearby island and had seen a good number of trails. Trails that my full rigid 29er XC starts to feel inadequate. So I'm considering building a new HT trail bike. My options are 29er with suspension fork or a full rigid plus bike. Haven't decided on wheel size for the plus size but kind of leaning on 29+.

My concern is would a rigid plus wheel feel as good (better) than suspensioned 29er? I personally want a rigid fork because it's maintenance-free.

My suggestion would be a Trek Stache (or equivalent 29+ Chiner frame) with front suspension.  However, I am biased as I own two of them.

IMO maintenance is not a reason to go rigid.  Have you had a lot of maintenance problems with suspension forks in the past?

I agree, going rigid shouldn't be about maintenance. And yes, I did encountered some problems with my suspension forks before, these problems were partly why I got into rigid in the first place.

Another option you could consider is the Lauf fork.
I wanted to go rigid too, but the LBS made me an offer I couldn't resist for the Lauf.

It is maintenance free, and provide 60mm of travel.
I ride it for more than a year now in all kind of terrain but DH, and I'm really happy of it.
