@apctjb, what height is your wife?

Also, what's the biggest chainring this frame can handle?

5'-7",  Not sure on max chainring. The chainstay comes in about 7" above the bottom bracket with gives tons of clearance for chainring. The limiting factor might be when running 3" tires; which would reduce max chainring diameter to ~8". Still huge.

Note, even though I am running boost wheels I did not bother with a boost crank. Chain alignment is fine, shifting precise and I can back pedal when in largest rear cog (46t) and the chain does not drop down.

Love this thread, I'm researching frames and wheels for my first 29+ build and this has great info on both.
BTW, does the CS-496 include necessary parts like the thru-axle, hanger, headset, seatpost clamp?  I have a Fox 34 Rythmn, SLX groupset, and cockpit already lined up.  Also, approximately what are these frames going for?
Thanks

@Upstatesc-rider, the CS-496 comes with the thru axle and hanger. Headset, seatpost clamp and extra hanger are options you can get from Peter.

The listed price is US$445, excluding fork and shipping.

I have the RM950C rims from Peter laced up to Hope Pro4 hubs with DT Aerolite spokes on my plus bike. The wheels have been perfect with the Bontrager Chupacabra 29x3.0 tires. They weigh in just over 1800 grams which isn't too bad for a 43mm inner width wheel. Some centerlock DT hubs would drop the weight some though. I got my plus frame from a different vendor before Peter had the 496 available so I can't comment on the frame but everything else I've gotten from Peter has been stellar.
