100mm or 120mm fork
« on: February 24, 2015, 06:43:18 PM »
Hi, I'm looking at a pretty good deal on a Fox 120mm fork.
When I bought my frame (FR-207, 26") never saw a spec about what was the recommended fork travel. As I used a 100mm fork I already had, I didn't put that much attention to it, but now I'm considering the longer fork. Do you have any idea if the chiner frames were designed for 100mm or 120mm would work?

Also, what are your thoughts about moving from 100 to 120?

I would guess that your  26" frame geometry would work well with a 80mm-100mm fork, 120mm might be pushing it, and may not work as well.  However it's really up to you and if you can live with the extra travel on your frame.

Thanks carbon_dude. I agree with you, I've been looking at the dimensions more closely and I also think that 120mm will mess up the XC geometry.
