I once owned a Trek 69er, 26" wheel in the back, 29" wheel in the front.  That's about as asymmetric as it gets.  The bike rode really well.

I think he's referring to the new rim designs that are asymmetric to make up for the spoke angle differences on offset hubs.  Peter has some listed on his site I noticed today.

speaking of off center rims, those 42mm ones i won are 3mm offset, looking forward to building them up.

Both the front and rear rims  on my Rumblefish are asymetrical, and they've been surprisingly bombproof.

I understood the question, just thought I throw out something funny.  I've read about various brands that design their wheels to have an asymmetric offset.
