Author Topic: Great deal on a fully built -057, X1/XT at Chain Reaction Cycles  (Read 3214 times)

Chain Reaction is selling what looks to be a -057 frame with nicely spec'd components for $2049.  This is quite a bit less than what I built my CS-057 XT/XX1 for a few years ago and probably less than what I could build it for today.

Sure looks like an 057.  That is a great price for a complete bike.  Plus "Name Brand" Warranty, etc.

Damn... another legendary name repurposed for generic bikes.

Not really a Vitus unless it is whippy lugged aluminum.
Even the low budget Motobacons are better rides than the originals IMO.

This, so very much this. YAFCB with the Vitus name just kinda hurts my soul a little bit.

That's a nice found.

When I look at the photo, seems like there is a "Made in Taiwan" sticker at the bottom of the down tube?

The price is before VAT, right? And is there any import tax to have it shipped to USA?

The US does not have any import tax on bikes that I know of.  I've never paid a tax on bicycle components, so I assume a full bike would also not have tax.  I suppose you need to find someone else that's ordered a complete bike and imported it into the US.
