Your experiences with Workswell?
« on: September 01, 2016, 07:29:45 AM »
Hey, guys!

I've been enquiring a few of the better known Chinese suppliers, and after some comparison I'm pretty tempted to pull the trigger on some offers from Workswellbikes. They offer at considerably lower prices, but I understand that they are a trusted source. Would you recommend to go with them?

My current favourites are:

WCB-M-062 or 096 with rigid fork (15x100)
and a matching carbon wheelset: 35 mm wide rims and Novatec hubs

as a winter project to be finished next year:
WCB-R-115
with this wheelset: like WWC-R-60-26.5c, but built with WWC-R-56-27.25c in a 18/21 spokes setup with Powerway hubs

What do you think?

I think Workswell is a good choice if you like what they are selling.  Anytime I have emailed them I received a quick response.  Although I have not personally ordered anything from them.  All my transactions have been with Peter @xmcarbonspeed.com.

Just emailed Candy from Workswellbikes and had a super fast response - even so Eurobike is right around the corner ...

OK meanwhile I ordered a WCB-M-096 - my contact was Candy - a little bit more "esprit" wouldn't hurt the process but over all a good experience - the invoice process could be better though - I had to ask for a detailed invoice twice - but hey when the price is  ...

Ordered and paid a WorkswellBikes WCB-R-146 on January 18th.

After countless promises and excuses still haven't got the frameset - last shipping was promised to take place on April 4th - another bump that was and the sales person - Candy aka sales07@workswellbikes.com is not answering any emails or WhatsApp calls ...

So I finally made up my mind and called on PayPal trying to get my money back ...

sad Story - but a chance for you guys out there to learn something ...

Hello

Finally have some time to post this problem. I make long story short.
Ordered wcb-m-062 21" frame, headsets 2x, dropouts 2x, seatpost 400 and bb - everything was nice packed and came quickly.
Assembling the bike - was easy - except seatpost! I haven't take out my torque wrench yet, I already heard a tiny crack sound  :o
This what happened   https://ibb.co/c5hRZa

I was thinking "OK, maybe I overnighted the clamp"  but this time I ordered seatpost from Peter (30 days waiting) - assembled this time with torque wrench.... and.... and... on 2nm I heard a similar crack sound again.... https://ibb.co/n01QSv

Contacting Peter again and asked about seatpost clamp torque values - same as others.. starting from 3nm.
I don't know can you see on the pictures, but these are not cracks.... it's more like cuts...
Starting to inspect the frame and find this https://ibb.co/fctTfF
the inner frame was very sharp and the shape is like a pliers - just a tiny torque acting like cutting in.
So.. I file this sharp edges off.... ordered new seatpost again! :) and the grass is green and sky is blue, everything is OK now and bike hitting xc marathons several months.

Contacted the workswell company seller and told them everything.... the only thing they said is "You overtightened the clamp."
sorry about bad english..

So if you have some warranty issues, you are f@ucked anyway.

I bought their gravel frame and had it custom painted. They were very quick to respond and the frame, fork and seatpost are all excellent. I also ordered some carbon bars from them which are very nice as well. I built it up with SRAM Rival 1x11. I also bought 650b carbon wheels from them with Novatec hubs. The bike is crazy light for a gravel bike and I frequently take it out on road rides with my group.  I'd highly recommend Workswell. Carrie is the lady that always emails me and she is super nice.

Does anyone have any recent feedback from ordering from workswell? They have a bike I’ve very interested in...

Buying and getting your frame is generally not a problem, with some exceptions, as usual.
Their frames are of good quality, with some exceptions... ;)
However if you're one of the unlucky exceptions above, their after sale service is very poor.
