Hardtail frame for XC with Boost
« on: October 24, 2017, 11:48:59 AM »
Hi everyone,
this is my first post at this forum, so first of all I'd like to say hello.
I'm not everyday english speaking person, so forgive me if I'll make some mistakes :)

As I look at branded new hardtail racing bikes many of them got 148mm rear space for boost hub.
Why is it so hard to find such design in chiner bikes? I don't think about ones with lifted one or two chainstays like frames ala STACHE.
I found only one at Hongfu - model FM-199B.

Had anybody try it or buy it? What are your opinions about it?

Hi
Interesting.
I'm in a total search.....china frame + autobuild or buy a complete mtb with well known brand.

I saw the china geometry is old....
RC =440MM
the others manufacters give 425 till 430.

I'm affraid to have a lumpish bike.

And,as lukwy wrote it,what about boost ?

You can run a standard 29" wheel in these frames. Just use the 27.5+ dropout position. Both have a 425mm chainstay. The workswell frame gives you the geometry in all configurations.

Workswell doesn't have XC race geometry despite having short (425mm) chainstays. It's rather a trail bike.
I think it is meant for longer travel forks. 100mm is maximum for me. SAGged 100mm fork is about 485mm long.
In this case the head angle would be ~72. Very nervous...
CS-496 is better option, but I'm 180cm tall (86cm leg) and it is difficult to choose between 17" and 19" frame.
I have to think about it. Maybe I have to wait till some new model will be realised.
