I like the SRAM XX1 better than what Shimano is offering, here are 10 reason why:

1)  Greater range, 10-42 rather than 11-40.  More top and bottom end on the SRAM cassette.
2)  XX1 will be about $500 cheaper on the street price.
3)  XX1 has been out for over a year and is proven to work well.
4)  XX1 uses X-sync which locks the chain on the chain ring eliminating the need for any kind of a chain guide.
5)  XX1 is a dedicated 11-speed group, XTR tries to be both a 1x, 2x, or 3x setup.
6)  I have not confirmed but it appears XTR cranks need to be removed to change the chainring(s).
7)  XX1 rear derailleur path is a true horizontal parallelogram to provide quick/reliable shifting.
  XX1 has a Gripshift option.
9)  XX1 trigger shifter has an extremely short throw for both increasing and decreasing gear changes, provides very fast shifting.
10) XX1 cranks are offered in 2 Q-factors.

Interesting on the XTR m9000
Going to be interesting to hear your thoughts on it.
What made you go that way?
Last I looked, nobody has it for sale yet, lot of vendors showing it...I guess to build interest/preorders.

CD, an 11th might be that XX1 does 28 vs. 30 is the smallest on XTR.

Good summary CD.  Thank you.  A 12th, SRAM will bend over backwards to serve the customer after the sale.  Shimano not so much.  I'm on SRAM X9 10 spd now but someday when my ship comes in XX1.

I have Shimano on all my bikes dating back to my 92 Bridgestone, the only part that ever did me wrong was some bottom end clipless pedals.   I have no doubt that it will work when delivered..  My original plan was to order groupset in November, but due to a better bonus, I can order the groupset now.

Chainreaction preorder pricing for XTR is similar to xx1.   

I am taking a second look at XX1 and Gripshift to make a super clean cockpit.  But XTR would keep all my bikes with familiar controls.

I have just gone to XX1 with the Gripshift and am very pleased !  It took a few miles to get used to shifting up and down in the right direction.  (Resulting in a clipped in fall at .5 mph going up a steep hill  ), glad no one was around to see it ! ) but now i have about 400 miles on the bike it is sub-concious crisp and quick shifting.

Cockpit is as clean as it gets too !

Reconsidering.  Might be an XX1 Gripshift setup.  Ordered both cassette bodies from Peter, better safe than sorry..

Been a busy weekend.  Since final/full payment went to Peter last night I will probably start a new official build thread with specs and pictures once parts start arriving.
